I have been with the surgery for almost 40yrs and generally things are good and we have always been fortunate to have had great GPs who are very thorough and get things sorted. However, it is the Admin side of things that lets the practice down and this has declined even further since joining with Queens Avenue surgery. There is such inconsistencies in the service you get from the receptionists - some do all they can to help you, others hide behind "the rules" and appear to have no empathy whatsoever. Turnover of the admin team also seems incredibly high which I can only assume is because they are underpaid and not trained well.....hence the inconsistency. The Practice Manager is never available whilst he should be out front of house helping staff, leading from the front and with ears to the ground listening to his patients. I fear the surgery will continue to decline in this area but I sincerely hope I am proved wrong.

I've been going to Rutland House for 10 years and have always been very impressed with the standard of care. This week I had an appointment within two days and was seen on a Saturday morning, with hardly any waiting time. As ever, the doctor and reception staff were excellent. This practice is the perfect example of why we should treasure the NHS and its hard-working staff - thank you!

I was nervous being with a new practice having all my life been with Queens Avenue Surgery where sadly all the doctors retired. My experience so far has been very positive. Yes waiting times to hold on the phone are invariably long but it’s the same for everywhere these days. However, once through receptionists I have found are always personable and helpful. I have had occasion to see two doctors both of whom have been excellent and one in particular has old school attitude unhurried and listens and most of all very knowledgable and professional. So far extremely happy with Rutland and with so many hundreds of patients not sure how they manage this but they seem to be doing admirably!!

The doctor sent me for an X-ray and straight away called me with my results that I had to go straight to hospital for a short stay, and when I came out the the doctor called to see how I was doing. All the staff and doctors at this practice are all excellent and vey helpful.
