Review titled One of the worst surgeries I've dealt with; avoid if you can
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 May 2024
I've had very few positive experiences with GPs over the years, but Russell Street Surgery is particularly bad. The doctors themselves are pleasant enough, but you'll wade through disinterested receptionists and endure the multiple week waits for an appointment, then it goes one of two ways: if it's straightforward like a cream or some painkillers, they'll prescribe something and send you on your way (or send you for some blood tests so it seems like they're doing something). If it's in any way more complex than that and may need a referral, no chance. A case in point would be the appointment I made to discuss obstructive sleep apnoea after multiple people had urged me to go to the GP (including, I'd note, another doctor) and get a referral for a sleep study. Instead, I was asked some basic questions, it was suggested that I use an over the counter nasal spray – despite making it clear that my nose isn't blocked – and asked to record myself sleeping and bring them footage of what I'm talking about, a task which would require reviewing and editing eight hours of video footage to find the right sections: i.e. to do my own sleep study and bring it to them. If that's not being fobbed off I'm not sure what is.

Review titled Useless surgery, can not follow simple instructions.
Rated 1 star out of 5

Phoned Dr at Russell Street, who told me to phone 111 which I did, 111 said I must get prescription within the hour, and 111 sent email regarding this to Russell Street. This was at 6pm the day before, so at 3pm the next day I went to nominated pharmacy to collect, wrong, Russell Street had not done my prescription, so 24hrs and I'm still waiting for them to respond. In the meantime I am getting more ill.

Review titled Un professional

I have had bad experiences serval times with this surgery, it lacks in so many ways! Mainly the appointment service, have to wait endlessly and never get what we need. I have complained to management several times but nothings improves. They just blame the NHS. Some doctors are rude and completely useless sometimes, should only get paid once patients are satisfied, maybe we will see some improvements!

Review titled Bad Receptionist

Receptionists are rude. They lack compassion, empathy and show no willingness to help patients. As if they are doing a favour on patients.
