  1. Review titled Beyond disappointed

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 October 2024

Been to see the doctors multiple times over the past year about a skin issue. Most recently went in September because i had seen a Pharmasist and they told me I had scabies and to see the doctor. Went it to see him, hardly even looked at me, only from a distance and told me I didn’t have scabies. I questioned it because of how horrible scabies can be and he told me I was being stupid for thinking it was scabies. Gave me steroids instead to help the itch. I’ve been to a dermatologist today to be told it is scabies. He had 1 look at my hands with a scope and could instantly see burrows so confirmed I have had scabies for over a year. The receptionist here was lovely and called me down as I’ve been in tears since finding out and it is horrible to have to deal with but the doctors here clearly need more training on how to diagnose and how to talk to patients without calling them stupid. Will be leaving this surgery but I am extremely disappointed and angry.

  2. Review titled Frustrated

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Caroline Liberty - Posted on 02 February 2024

I feel really sad about leaving this review, but I am extremely frustrated and disappointed. The nurses here are wonderful, but trying to see a GP here is proving to be absolutely impossible. I have been seeing the nurses for 6 months regarding a problem with my leg, but have found that the treatment is actually making the problem worse. So have requested to see a GP regarding this issue on 4 separate occasions via e consult, each time I have arrived for my appointment to find I’m booked in with the nurse. On Monday of this week my leg had got considerably worse so completed an e consult requesting a GP appointment, received a text message confirming an appointment for Friday. I phoned the day before to confirm time and check this was with a GP to find it is with a nurse, I explained I actually need to see a GP so was advised to go to surgery 8am today ( Friday) to get an on the day appointment. Which I did, only to be refused a GP appointment by the same receptionist that advised me to come in at 8 am and offered a nurse appointment again. After speaking to a client of mine who is a GP and showing her my leg and explaining what has been happening she strongly advised me to see a GP asap . But I still can’t get to see one, for 4 weeks, on a day I am working but that is the only time I can get. I have lost feeling in my lower leg, my skin looks like it has been scalded, and I am in excruciating pain with unexplained excruciating pain in my upper leg the wound is leaking through the dressing and soaking the dressing and burning my skin. I haven’t been able to see a GP in over a year. As I said the nurses are amazing, but sometimes you need to see a GP but the system here leaves you at the mercy of the person accessing your e consult to deem whether your condition is worthy of a GP appointment, and unfortunately I feel like this service is failing me.

  3. Review titled Going downhill

Rated 2 stars out of 5

What’s happened to a surgery that used to be great. Appalling phone service that does not work correctly, you call dead on 8am to get an emergency appointment only to be 15th in queue, then the phone system cuts you off, you call back and it tells you there’s an error, call back again and you’re still 15th in queue, by the time you get to speak to a receptionist all emergency appointments are taken so you have to call 111. What a waste of services. Is it also true that GP’s only allow the receptionist to book 9 patients in per day for emergencies?!? The practice is failing their community yet screaming for new patients when you cannot even manage the ones you already have. Make clearer signs for patients where blood tests are being taken, receptionists can see you’re waiting at the desk but just blank you, that’s just unnecessary and rude, at least acknowledge the patient waiting with a nod or a smile. I understand you may not have the nicest of some patients under frustration with all the above, but the Pratice needs a vast improvement and quick as its failings are clearly becoming apparent!

  4. Review titled Really poor service. Are never available

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Andrei H - Posted on 17 November 2023

Really poor customer service, especially for call appointments. You call at 8:00 am to be number 4 in the queue and you wait 30 minfor the phone to call, and you wait another 10 min for someone to pick up if is not getting disconnected. And here you go again. After 1h on the call, they tell you that is no room available anymore.

  5. Review titled E consult

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Graham Cott - Posted on 20 October 2023

I recently had a full knee replacement, and due to complications, I needed painkillers and anti inflammatory tablets but needed an e consultation to get them as unfortunately waiting for an appointment wasn't an option. I was told I would have a call back this Thursday just gone, it didn't happen and you unable to contact the surgery before 6.30 pm and then you can only send a pre written email. You will then hear from the surgery by 6.30 Friday. Again this never happened. I have now had to through outside the NHS to get through this week end. E consult is not worth the 15+ minutes it takes to fill it in. Seriously not happy

  6. Review titled Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Going to the doctor is never nice but the staff and doctors at Rowner are always so helpful and polite to me. The nurse who took my blood was great with making me feel at ease and was super friendly. The reception staff I spoke with were helpful and informative when I needed additional info about what else I had been referred to. It’s difficult to get an appointment sometimes but they’re always so understanding and try to get something to suit you and present you with a variety of options. I’ve been with the surgery for close to 10 years now and only had a couple of hiccups which I think is really good, considering everything going on. Thanks for all your hard work guys I really appreciate it :)

  9. Review titled Obtaining an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Elizabeth Pritchard - Posted on 17 December 2022

You are unable to get through on the phone, when you mention this you are referred to their Facebook pg! This is seemingly where they chose to place information about issues with their phone lines rather than their website. E consults are not reviewed correctly resulting in symptoms being missed and telephone appointments offered in 28 days time when 111 says they are urgent. If you do manage to make an appointment and check in using their automated system it still doesn't register that you are there and when you question if your appointment is going to take place you get a convoluted reason a to why it hasn't and they will "squeeze" you in. This is said to you while you are standing next to a sign saying how many appointments were missed. The medical staff if you can get to see them are great the clerical staff are unhelpful and condescending. I feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with them on a regular basis as it must add to the stress if the situation.
