  1. Review titled Rude Receptionist / Customer Service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 August 2024

I rang them early morning and I can't go through the appointment line, however, I was able to talk to one lady. She was already rude at first when answering the call, and I was patient to ask for my concern. To make it short, we ask for appointment for a sperm count and discuss the details, she explains that we will not be covered by NHS, I was explaining to her that this wasn't the first time we did through NHS, and she did not even allow me to explain and she talks continuously that she wouldn't allow me to talk at all and hear my side, she even said bye in an Insulting way. Such a rude customer service!!

Thank you for giving us this feedback. Please do contact the surgery if you wish to discuss the matter with us and for us to investigate the matter for you. We are always happy to learn if we have got it wrong and to explain more clearly if we have not communicated the reasons well.

Well when you book an appointment for telephone consultation at 8am in the morning and you don't get a call back by 4pm you then call the surgery to be told its staff training and shut what is the point in making an appointment if your not going to call the patient backing gets worse where the patient/doctor relationship gone I was told to make an appointment if my issue hadn't cleared up mmmmmm I can see why a and e are so blooming busy when you have doctors like this

Thank you so much for taking the time with me on the telephone to discuss this matter and establish that the patient was called twice yesterday morning and did not answer. I am very pleased to see that an additional appointment had been made with the GP today. I also welcomed your views discussing the challenges faced by general practice and the steps that we are taking and trialing to alleviate these pressures to provide best care and protect our team from burn out. Thank you for the feedback and we are here in practice if you have any concerns in the future. Rivergreen Medical Centre

  3. Review titled No Duty of care

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 April 2024

Been trying to get an appt for nearly 2 weeks after finding a lump, finally got an appt today for 2 weeks time! So a total of a month for someone to check out a lump. Such a big thing about getting smears and checking for lumps but when you find one there is no help. Disgusted would be an understatement. Once I finally see a GP let's hope all is OK because this will not be my only review

I am sorry that you are unhappy with the service that you have received. I would be very happy for you to make contact with the practice and we can discuss further and see what has happened here as such an appointment request ordinarily goes through to the duty doctor on the same day. Please do make contact.

  4. Review titled Inconsistent

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I was told 2 weeks ago, my daughter would receive her paediatrics appointment the following week that had been escalated by rivergreen and also rivergreen would call me back, no call back and paediatrics are no closer to offering an appointment as I have chased them. No help regarding my 4 year old who is regressing massively and we have been practically begging for support.

  5. Review titled Outstanding Medical Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sue Eastman - Posted on 04 March 2024

I visit the practice on a three monthly basis and have done over the last five years. During my visits I find the reception team warm, friendly and welcoming. Each experience with clinicians is outstanding from start to finish. For example I last visited the practice on 15th February requesting an urgent appointment The receptionists listened and were helpful. The GP ensured they researched and checked the symptom's thoroughly, treated me with empathy, respect and understanding and ensured the correct treatment/outcome was provided, as they always do Very lucky to be registered with such an amazing practice. Thank you

  6. Review titled Disappointing

Rated 1 star out of 5

I tried calling for so many times to the surgery so I can book an appointment, of course every time you have to call for at least 32 times so you can manage to get in the queue so they can tell you that aren't any appointment left for that day even if you tell them that you wake up and you can't hear with a ear to quote "please call tomorrow morning or go to emergency ". Now I requested a referral letter is being a week still waiting.

  8. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 August 2023

Asked to see a doctor as pregnant they booked me in with a practitioner complete mess she didn't know what I could have for a skin condition she had to write everything down to speak to a doctor as she didn't know then sent me away and I had to wait then she had to phone me to tell me what they said, due to the doctor not seeing it it was like guess work. If they didn't have any doctors appointments left they should have said but the receptionist should have known this would happen or might as only doctors know what pregant women can have. Awful it used to be one of the best doctors, now I would say it's the worst the receptionists are making decisions that they shouldn't be making.and it's causing unnecessary stress for patients. If they can't handle the patient load they should ask for help

  9. Review titled High demand but with thorough and thoughtful staff

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 February 2023

We moved area so had to move doctors. We were very happy at our previous practice, though the 'kindness' of the service did vary according to which doctor you saw. However, at Rivergreen, which unfortunately I have had to contact many times during the last 2 years, every appointment (face to face or phone calls) has been compassionate and thorough! Yes I agree with others that the appointment system is a massive challenge, however I always find a caring and helpful person on the end of the line....when and if I get through. The national 'system' is broken but in my experience the people working for the health system and our wellbeing, are trying as hard as they can to serve us as faithfully as they can! Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback. I will pass on your kind words to the team, this will give them a much needed boost in these challenging times for all in general practice. With regards the appointment system we are now working to the new national GP contract and so we make every patient contact count - assigning patients wanting care to an appropriate clinician or NHS resource. This means that we are preserving the GP appointments for acute and chronic disease care and utilising our other clinicians: nurses, HCAs, physician associate, clinical pharmacists, physios, mental health practitioner, cancer care coordinator, social prescriber and health and wellbeing coach where appropriate. We are almost a month in and the telephone rings less meaning less waiting and we have appointments and solutions available all day - good for our patients and for us. It is a big change to get used to and we think it is for the better.

  10. Review titled Registered NHS. patient...’ a public outcry ‘.

Rated 1 star out of 5

To the ‘practice manager’ Visited surgery today, to be told that with seven doctors at the practice and seeing 1000 patients per week, yes, 1000 patients per week, that there were no appointments available..told to phone at 8 o’clock in the morning.....which we know does not work.....advised to go to eye casualty at A&E...something is drastically wrong and needs desperately to be resolved...to avert unnecessary pressure and stress on hospital resources and patients ..

Dear Patient, Thank you for this feedback and for taking the time to discuss this with me in person during December. I am sorry that you are not happy with the service that you have received. As Practice Manager I do look at all feedback and adjust our services as much as we can to meet demand for example we have a new phone system and have made some changes to our appointment systems, including having appointments with many different clinicians 7am - 8pm and at weekends. We are in a time of unprecedented demand across General Practice and the wider NHS. If you wish to contact me further please contact the practice and ask for the Practice Manager and I will be happy to help and listen to your suggestions on how else we can try to meet demand.
