My annual diabetes blood test and initial checkup went very well. All my concerns were addressed with professional courtesy and explained well.

after leaving a message about a problem I was having, and the lady from the chemist said I need to see my gp I didn't realise how difficult this was going to be. I called the surgery on lunch hour, and was told i'd have to call at 8 in the morning. this time in the mornings I am driving to work, and will not use even an hands free whilst i'm driving. She then asked if I had any days off work, so I could ring them in the morning, I could not believe what I was hearing. If it turns out I do have something that needs urgent attention, by the time I ring and get through to them, I could probably be admitted to hospital. Not everyone can take time off work, just to make an appointment, this needs sorting and quickly.

Dear Karen, thank you for your feedback. Apologises for the difficultly you have had booking an appointment. Our on the day appointments do become available to book at 8am every morning, we understand this is not possible for all patients to contact at that time but we do also have an online system that is available from 6am. Our online system allows you to send medical and admin requests to be assessed by a GP. If these times are not suitable we have routine GP appointments available to book in advance. I have been calling at 8am for the last 7 days to be told everyday they are at capacity. What do I need to do to see a GP? Explained my symptoms to reception and told to go to A&E, explained why I was unable to do this (severe PTSD) still told, no help available. After 6 days it's not unreasonable to expect some help. Was told if I refused A&E then they could not help! Shocking.

The reception staff vary greatly, some polite and very helpful however some are not! Called today to ask us a Ned could be changed and told to call back next morning for triage!! Ridiculous and not helpful, when I explained it was difficult to get through and triage got closed early and I work and care for husband the receptionist went to check with manager, who said same, I explained again- said I was on phone now requesting change but she repeated the same message getting g cross, I was just saying I would do that and she put phone down on me, unacceptable. I have worked in the NHS for 30 years and never experienced service or lack of it like this.

Dear Julie, thank you for your feedback. I apologise for the varied help you have received from the reception team, the team strive to offer good customer care to all our patients. For any increase or decrease in medication this will need to be discussed with a clinician. I understand the phone lines are extremely busy at the moment and capacity is taken quickly. Today I phoned up as I missed an appointment, which I understand is my responsibility to make sure I attend, when I spoke to the receptionist she came across as very rude towards me to bearing in mind I have a 3 month old baby and he hasn’t been settling much at night these past few nights so I missed the appointment, she didn’t seem bothered whatsoever and basically told me that they can’t do anything about it and wait for the next appointment.

Waiting on test results, gave them a call and they had received them but decided not to pass them on or offer any further treatment. If your in significant pain its not a lot to expect some contact ,pass on results,offer more options. It seems they have no interest in patient care. That's not great for a gp practice , not sure how I'm meant to proceed . It's a good job I rang them ,or they would have left me hanging. At least now I know I'm waisting my time here.

Friendly and warm reception staff secured me a midwife appointment despite only just handing in my New Client Registration Form one day previous. They listened to me and acted timely with organising my appointment. I am very grateful!
