Review titled Hen's Teeth
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Hen's Teeth - Posted on 19 March 2024
I have had a chest infection for nearly two weeks. I tried to make an appointment to see the doctor this morning. I attended the surgery at 8.40 onlyvto be told "On the day appts only available by telephone" ... When i phoned the surgery, whilst still in the empty waiting room the response was ..."you are currently number 45 in the queue" ... online apps not available ... how the [expletive deleted] do you get to see a doctor if you're ill?

I was seen by a GP I have not seen before, I was asked the same question 3 times, and I answered it the same way 3 times. I was offered a referral to the hospital, I informed them that I had already had 2 appointments with them, and that the practice had had 2 letters from them. They read the letters and took no advantage of the knowledge given in the letters, told me to continue with the same pain medication, even though the surgery keeps on stopping it, and that it does not help very much. I said this but was told to keep taking it. I have recently been told that it is difficult to get appointments with the surgery because patients with life threatening conditions are being seen (came from a practice member), so I am very sorry I attended with a non essential condition and wasted time.

Review titled Awful service
Rated 1 star out of 5

After being on hold for 35 mins, I was told that I couldn’t book an appointment for my daughter to discuss contraception because the two doctors who could speak about that weren’t in. I was given the drs names and days they were in and told to try again in one of those mornings, even though this was a morning one of them were supposed to be at work. I was also told that when I ring up the dr may not be available as they could be on call/emergencies. I was unable to book in advance which would mean that if I wanted an appointment I would have to keep my year 11 daughter at home to be late for school on the off chance that I might get an appointment - you honestly couldn’t make it up!! I have suggested that for appointments such as discussing contraception, you should be able to book in advance but it will fall on deaf ears… this surgery is absolutely abominable and should be avoided at all costs. I will be collecting the forms for myself and my family to change practices ASAP.

Review titled There are never any appointments available
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 July 2023
Online booking impossible, all appointments already gone for a month ahead when trying to access, even when the site is working (one says the practice is closed when it's open, another repeatedly say's 'it's us, not you') at 8.30 a.m. How is it possible to have 43 + in the phone queue when ringing at 8.30 on the dot or before? There isn't ever a hope of getting an appointment, even when a GP or Consultant asks you to make one. I compare this to a surgery in another area a friend uses where she can call at any time of day, only has to wait a couple of weeks if wanting a named GP but otherwise gets an appointment . This is a very unfair system where appointments are never available, even for long term , disabling conditions, where the link for that doesn't work either.

Review titled Bad Reception customer service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Susan Kilgallon - Posted on 07 June 2023
Rang about possible cancerous moles on daughters leg, receptionist spoke to me in a very patronising and condescending manner as if I was stupid, I only wanted to try and book an appointment,i think the receptionist needs to take extra training for people's skills because it felt like i was getting told off by a teacher, I had to put the phone down I felt embarrassed, definitely changing my daughter from this surgery, it's a disgrace

Review titled Appointment System not fit for purpose
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 23 May 2023
My wife needs to see a doctor regarding blood pressure. She is registered on the Online System. Yesterday and today, she logged in at 0820hrs, to watch for the appts to drop at 0830hrs. At 0830 a single appointment was presented which she immediately selected and booked only for the System to reply that the slot was already booked. How can a competent GP practice with half a dozen or more GPs, only be able to offer patients a single appointment two days running? This is diabolical. If you have too many patients to be able to offer an effective service, why are you registering new patient? Yes, I'd love to speak with the Practice Manager, but conveniently you omit to publish their contact details and I have no intention of sitting on hold until someone can be bothered to answer the phone.

Review titled It’s horrible going there

I went in as my ears were bleeding through perforated ears walked in after paying £19.00 for a taxi and got a stroppy remark of the reception saying I pay to come to work everyday and then was told to go to two walk in centres were I haven’t a clue we’re and now 10 weeks later I’ve been to hospital twice and still have perforated ears and still cannot hear properly and I’ve also been with this practice for years and feel like they do not care at all about patients and trying to get an appointment is ridiculous I was in the queue number 57

Review titled Not allow to meet doctor on given appointment time.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 March 2023
For prospect medical center Newcastle. I am totally disappointed with the team. I got appointment on today 20 march, So I went on the given time. But when I meet the receptionist, she doesn't allow me to meet the doctor. She told that your appointment was changed to april 3 without any informing me. I don't know what is happening here. My whole day wasted due to unorganized manners. Everyone have the certain schedules on every day and we all are gathering hospitals by adjusting our working days, classes etc, and the hospital members are doing the worst things to us. The receptionist arguing that she was leaved everyone, who has appointed on today to other date. If such things have to be happening for any emergency cases, please kindly inform us. Because everyday is precious to everyone.

Review titled Good luck with this practice
Rated 2 stars out of 5

after being hospitalised and told to speak with GP upon release, i had to endure the trial of obtaining an appointment. after 4 days of failing online, i called in to be told i need to book online. I explained i was just released from hospital, which is when they provide a link to the appointment system. no appointment, just a link via text. after 3 weeks from release, i get the appt, where the GP offers to send me to hospital. New symptoms develop, walk-in tell me it is best to see the GP, and after 1 week of failing to book via the preferred methods, I am online awaiting for a new week of spamming refresh to try and get a fabled appointment.
