Review titled All parts of the Practice very supportive.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Moya Thomas - Posted on 06 October 2023
We have had cause to use this Practice many times since mid August and everyone we had had contact with - receptionists, GPS, the Dispensary team - have all been very efficient, kind and professional. This is particularly laudable when health services are under such significant pressure . My husband and I are very pleased that we are registered at Plas Ffynnon Medical Centre.

Thank you very much for taking the time to give us such positive feedback. I will ensure it gets passed on to the whole team.

Review titled Appalling service
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Poor service on a number of occasions. reception staff give different advice about bookings. Some say you can only book appointments on the day and others seem to be able to book appointments in advance. I've also had problems with prescriptions not being sent and prescriptions taking a week to arrive at the pharmacy.

I am sorry to read about your experience. Please email us (our email address is on our website at pfmc.co.uk), so that we can discuss the matter with you directly. However, in response to your point about being unable to book appointments in advance, this was the case until recently. We have changed our booking system to allow advance bookings with doctors of choice up to 2 weeks ahead. This may explain the contradictory advice from receptionists. I apologise for the issues you have had with prescriptions not being sent. Most of our prescriptions are sent electronically to pharmacies using the NHS system EPS. When a prescription request is processed and then authorised by a GP, it now only takes seconds for it to ‘arrive’ at the pharmacy. The few that cannot be sent by EPS are collected by pharmacies. Our local pharmacies collect prescriptions from us on a daily basis. It is possible that the problem, therefore, was to do with the processing of the prescription request. We would like to look into what went wrong in your case so please contact us.
