  1. Review titled Shocking practise

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 June 2024

I tried to book a phone consultation as what I needed didn’t warrant an actual face to face appointment, and the reception lady was so rude and unhelpful. She said there were no appointments left and that I had to go online and fill out a Triage form and hopefully someone would get in touch. The word hopefully doesn’t fill me with positivity. I stated that I would have to wait all weekend as this phone call I made was on a Friday. She said that’s is correct. I then asked could I be out down for a cancellation and she replied no that’s not something we do. So if someone doesn’t make an appointment, then that’s wasted time. She just repeated that’s it’s not something she could do. The conversation was flakey and her attitude was awful. Luckily my reason for phoning was not urgent but a bit of sympathy wouldn’t go a miss. Looking to transfer to another practise. I luckily have to very rarely contact the doctors but I feel sorry for the ones who do!

Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and I am very sorry to see that you have had a negative experience with the Practice and that when you contacted the surgery you could not be offered an appointment. We are currently experiencing increased demand on our services and only have a limited number of appointments available. Unfortunately we are not able to offer above this limited demand as we must ensure patient safety. Please be assured our clinicians are working to their full capacity and new appointments are available daily. If you wish to discuss your experience further, please contact me directly using the following link: https://www.modalitypartnership.nhs.uk/contact. Kind Regards, Frankie Patient Experience Team

  2. Review titled Appointments are impossible to get

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Marie - Posted on 26 February 2024

I have been with this surgery for many years and it was once very helpful and accommodating, however since merging with other surgeries in mid sussex and becoming part of modality it is impossible to get an appointment. I called at exactly 8:30 when it opened to join a queue , I was no 10. Once I got through to the receptionist I was told there were no more appointments for that day. I asked how that could be possible if I was the 10th person to call that morning to be told the appointments are split between the 4 practices, although I’m unsure how that works exactly as each practice has its own doctors. I only needed antibiotics as I knew it was a bad case of tonsillitis which I have had many times before and I was told by the receptionist she couldn’t offer help and one of her suggestions was to go to A&E instead. Our NHS and nurses in the emergency dept do not need anymore strain however practice doctors no longer want to work or help patients and unfortunately since joining Modality, this practice has also fallen into the category of pointless surgeries who do not offer their patients appointments very easily.

  3. Review titled Joke is a nice way of describing this surgery

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have type 2 diabetes and the only time I get any contact from them is when they demand to see to see me for my review which is once a year. I suffer with other issues like uncomfortable heavy periods that have caused me to be violently sick and when I try and speak with anyone at this joke I get oh it’s to do with your diabetes medication which is utter nonsense. I have had better support and help with people from online forums and my own friends and family. I will be looking into moving doctors as you clearly don’t care about your patients

  5. Review titled Terrible Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 May 2023

I have tried to make a standard, not an emergency, appointment to see a GP a number of times in the last 2 weeks. Each time I get told there are no appointments available and to call back in a few days to check if more appointments have been released / made available. This is not acceptable from an NHS GP Practice that is being funded by Public money. The service has definitely declined since it became a Modality run Practice.

  6. Review titled I am pleased with the service I recieve

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 May 2023

I've always had exceptional service here. Whether it be appointments, referrals or seeing the nurse. I have been looked after well, with follow up phone calls etc. I don't feel like a number as the doctors know me. I would recommend.

  7. Review titled Frustrating

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 March 2023

I have tried a couple if times to make an appointment and while I understand the practice is under pressure I am unhappy that if your appointment is not an emergency and there are no appointments available for non emergency situations for the net two weeks no one knows when it is going to be possible to even try to make one and can't tell you when to phone back.

  8. Review titled Really gone downhill

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 March 2023

This practice has steadily gone downhill. You can no longer phone on the day for an afternoon appointment, and pre bookable appointments only now available for 2 weeks in advance and are impossible to get! Getting an appointment urgent or otherwise is an absolute nightmare. The whole way the practice runs has changed and not for the better. If you need to see a doctor but are still able to work and need an afternoon slot you can’t get one - it has to be put to the duty doctor as a message who then decides if they’ll see you. It’s absolutely ridiculous. A couple of the reception staff are lovely but a couple get shirty with you the minute you ask for an appointment. It’s so sad to see the surgery going downhill (since the Modality merger) and I hear more negative feedback than positive from others these days as well. I am currently getting forms to change practice.
