After using call back, I was told I cannot make appointments by phone as it is not done this way anymore and that I Must use the askmyGP service, then they said they were sending me a link. They attempted to end the call but I explained I do not have a smart phone so this would not work as it does not have internet. After persisting I was told that they would fill out a form for me and I waited on hold for quite some time while they did this. I was then told I could not phone up everyday and do this. On their own website it says- Appointments To request an appointment -Use the Evergreen Life app. We will respond within normal working hours. We are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6.30pm -Use the askmyGP service. We will respond within normal working hours. We are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6.30pm -Phone us Monday to Friday, 8am to 6.30pm -Visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist. We are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6.30pm I cannot be expected to sign up to a third party organisation to make an appointment. The recorded message on their number when you call says about using the app so others without an internet connection can get through, presumably to make an appointment by phone. Why am I told I Cannot make an appointment by phone when I clearly should be able to.

Thank you for your comments on NHS choices. We have introduced AskmyGp ( online booking ) in order to fast and clear access. I understand if any issues with Internet or smart phones but we are still working as normal and our staff is completing request on the behalf of patients for such cases. I would like to meet with you in person to discuss your comments in detail, so that we can improve our service for you and all of our patients. Only needed to come in to have a blood test done. They cancelled on the day just a few hours before the appointment. I had to take time of work for this appointment, so it was a complete waste of time. How difficult is it to organise yourself and make a schedule that you can actually stick to?

Thank you for your comments. However we are GP practice and have no remit over phlebotomy nurse who works on first floor. Our Nurses do not take blood at GP Practice

I left a 1 star review over a year ago regarding the child and family practice service, receptionist, appointments and phones. I am not sure what management has done in the last 6 months but this has really improved. The reception desk has some new faces who are helpful and dedicated to patient care. the phones are being picked up in a timely manner which is good for people like me that work 12 hour shifts. I called last week and yesterday Morning, within 2 minutes someone picked my call I had to make sure that I had called the right number I was that shocked how quick I got an answer. The doctors are fantastic and the appointment system seems to be working to the benefit of the patients. I do hope this continues as it was only right for me to give an updated review if patient complaints are actually being heard and something is being done about it.

I am sorry for late reply. Thank you for taking the time to make a comment about our surgery on NHS Choices we are sorry that the service you have received didn't meet your expectations. At That We are looking to introduce new online system to make patient access better and now we have launched AskmyGP. I hope it will help us to improve. Thank you

Wanted to make an appointment for my son who is 28months old, he has had a severe eczema flare up condition he has had since he was a baby, I also needed to find out referal details that was done over a year ago as hospital has not contacted me yet. The lady on the phone was very rude and abrupt, even the way she answered the phone was unprofessional, she said there is no appointments I have to choose a different option for an appointment, she was continuously speaking over me when I then went to ask about referral, to then I said why are you being so rude, her response was ‘what’s your problem, you don’t know what’s going on here, I can’t hear you from my ear peace. At this point I was so shocked and disgusting to the way she was talking and the tone she was speaking in, baring in mind I had my phone on loudspeaker whilst feeding my son lunch, I then added my mother into the call so she could hear the way the lady was talking, and she was also very disgusted. I also asked for lady’s name numerous times which she replied ‘what do you want my name for, over again, to then she disconnected the call. I called back spoke to another lady who was so polite and professional who said they will print my referral I can pick this up from surgery and booked my son an apppointment which I appreciate. I do not appreciate the way some of these staff members speak and action need to be taken.

Faster service no waiting for queue and quick solution from reception customer service’s , I came to there today for my mom to see the doctor, but I couldn’t manage for booking appointment to see the doctors, I was so depressed that time , when I came to visit to porters avenue health care Center , nhs staff who is working in the customer services they solve the issue . Many thanks porters avenue customer service

I have been told to come at 8 to get an appointment. Two days in a raw I came and both occasions they said there isn’t any appointment Available. Clearly that’s a misinformation. Staff is not trained. They kept me on standby for 15 minutes. They just gone inside and outside that’s all. Finally come out saying to me try every day and one day I will get appointment. That’s ridicules how this is surgery can run like that. NHS England look at this. I will email further if I Dont get any reply here

Good customer service and reception team at Porters Avenue, I will recommend this gp surgery, They always have options to refer patients to alternative routes when there is no appointments available at GP surgery, They have also launched an app called ever green where you can do everything through the app. Good reception and management team
