Review titled Personal attention is excellent
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Keith Maer - Posted on 15 October 2024
I have been so impressed with the care and attention of every one in this surgery. The nurses that I have seen have exceeded my expectations. For example, I went for a routine flu jab and I mentioned the blood pressure monitoring that I had been doing. I was then given a further blood and urine test and the results of that could be read on my app within 24 hours. A week later I received a follow up phone call to ensure that I could access and understand the test results. This is typical of the care and support that this surgery provides. Thank you.

I had a phone call back appointment with Dr Thomas today. She is truly very special. She is totally in command. Her explanations were outstanding. Looking at several options with me. She gave me great respect. Her jolly chaisma is heart warming and also a great pick me up. Thank you very much Doctor Thomas.

Just want to say thank you to the receptionist, nurse and lovely lady Dr who saw my husband , the stubborn one, on Tuesday afternoon and without beating about the bush saved his life as he was in complete heart block. He was kept in the emergency dept at Torbay until early yesterday when moved to CCU and the cardiac consultant deemed his heart rate wasn't good enough for the pacemaker operation and put him on an adrenaline infusion. He's scheduled to get his operation this afternoon Thank you for your care, and help with the arrangements to get him there- we are both very thankful

Review titled Dead end
by Anne - Posted on 01 September 2024
A sudden crack and a flash of excruciating pain, and my knee was completely immobilised. What to do when you suddenly can't walk?A&E is out - I cannot possibly get out of the house or into a car, and there are no ambulances available for a "minor injury" like this one. OK. So self-care at home is my only option. But I am told that I should call my GP to request an X-ray in due course to find out whether I have a folded meniscus tear or a torn ligament: this will be important for my rehabilitation. So after a few days I duly phone my surgery, as instructed, to request a referral for an X-ray in a few weeks time, when I hopefully will have regained enough mobility to get there. The answer I received was short: "No. We don't do that." "And no, you may not have a telephone appointment to speak with your doctor." So here I am, unable to walk and on my own. Good bye, Old Farm.

Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Rachel - Posted on 10 June 2024
Old farm surgery is excellent, I was very run down with very bad acne and stomach issues and the doctor chatted with me and we talked about a lot of different treatments and we come up with a plan which is working brilliantly and he also done a follow up call to check on me. All doctors and nurses and other members of staff are very friendly and helpful and give 100%. I would definitely never change surgery’s. Thank you old farm surgery

Review titled Consistently Good treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by David Bath - Posted on 24 May 2024
I would just like to say I I have been a patient at the practice since moving to the area in 2000. I have had 2 major operations and wet macular and I had a breakdown in 1998. I have been treated with positivity and kindness throughout. This month I have been married 60years and we are going on s celebratory cruise. My left knee being painful, I need ed a steroid injection. My Doctor rang back and administered the injection in the same afternoon. Everyone at the practice has gone the extra mile, my wife and I are so thankful.

My wife and I registered at Old Farm Surgery in 1998. Since then we have received such good care from the team that friends and relatives who live away from us have expressed astonishment at how quickly we can get seen and how soon a referred appointment can be made. To maintain this friendly atmosphere and high quality care over the years is an amazing achievement. Thank you Old Farm Team for looking after us so we'll. Best wishes Brian.

Review titled Best practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sandra - Posted on 22 July 2024
Old Farm Surgery is by far the best practice and I am so happy to be a patient there. I move to Paignton from Plymouth in November 2020 and had to change surgeries. I was happy with the surgery I was at previously and didn’t think for one minute I would find better! How wrong was I. I met a social prescriber at the surgery in February this year. What a wonderful lady she is. She listened to me and understood exactly what I was saying. She gave me good sound advice, sent an email of introduction to a charity close to my heart and just made me feel at ease and a little more confident, I feel she definitely put me on the right track. Each and every time I have interaction of any description with the surgery staff, reception, doctors, nurses or councillors I have always been made to feel welcome and at ease, never rushed and always cared for. I would like to say a big Thank You for doing such an outstanding job to all the staff at Old Farm Surgery.
