    The staff at Novum Health Hawstead Rd are very pleasant however the switchboard and getting through to book an appt in peak times is not at all. I was asked today to use their new chat doc virtual assistant on WhatsApp I was a little sceptical but it truly was a game changer for me. Its very easy to use with clear questions and instructions and even better, does not take hours waiting on the phone. Literally within an hour I had an appt booked for me, and that would have probably been quicker if I had replied faster. Definitely recommend anyone to use this service, it takes the stress and disappointment out of calling the switchboard.

    The GPs I have seen here are kind and helpful, with more appointments available lately which has been great. The chat bot system on WhatsApp was an easy and quick way to receive my blood tests results - a clinician responded within 10 minutes.

    The reason I have not contacted the GP prior to this was the thought of 'ringing at 8am', waiting in a long queue only to be told no appointments by the time you get through. The ease of sending a WhatsApp message to have my query answered very quickly and completely was more than satisfactory. Ringing at 8am is very difficult if you work and that system is very frustrating. The WhatsApp service for me worked really well but as with any system, there can't just be 'one size fits all' and won't suit everyone. It would have been useful to know about this service by texting all the patients as I found out by default and maybe would have been in touch sooner

The service was started as a pilot in September we did not want to inform all our patients until we were sure that the staff, clinicians and the patients who were part of the pilot were happy with using the service.     Use of the WhatsApp Virtual Assistant is a seamless and smooth method of contacting the Practice. Your response has been prompt and efficient and it avoids the scenario of multiple phone calls in an attempt to secure an appointment.

    This is an extremely good medium of communication with Doctors. It is especially useful for people who cannot afford to take time out of their working day for unnecessary appointments which can be dealt with over text messaging. If used well, you will find that naturally people with less serious cases will eventually opt to use this medium with more serious cases booking face 2 face appointments. A good initiative indeed.
