Review titled Poor patient appointment management
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 23 December 2024
Pros: *The reception team seem nice and professional. *The practice is taking on new patients Cons *The archaic patient triage and appointment system involving mandatory 8.30am queued calls for routine and usually prebookable appointments *being on hold for 90 minutes to not get an appointment *being unable to secure a time of appointment other than ‘morning’ once you secure an 8.30 triaged appointment. *completely inaccessible healthcare for anyone with a life, kids or a job.

Review titled And now the praise
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Michael Clark - Posted on 03 May 2024
Contrary to my previous post after I had another episode I rang the surgery and was dealt with by the most helpful woman, She said that I should have an early telephone consultation. 70 minutes later I received that call and was told that I should have a face to face consultation that very afternoon. This took place and was very thorough lastint 45 minutes. 30 minutes after I got back home I had a call from the Royal Sussex Hospital giving me an appointment for early the day after tomorrow. How efficient was that? I am so grateful and feel the need to provide an opposite posting to my previous one.

Review titled Cannot even get a phone consultation
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Michael Clark - Posted on 04 April 2024
Both my wife and I have attempted to obtain a phone consultation in the past two days. One due to a sudden and high rise in blood pressure monitored over 6 days, The other due to an episode when the heart rhythms were chaotic and caused some confusion. We rang promptly at 08.30 but was answered later, 20 and 55 minutes, to say no appointments available. One cannot book an appointment for the following day. We were told to go to a&e. Now we have no complaint about the medical staff at this practice, they are good and helpful. But somehow we should at least be able to speak on the phone with someone. We used to be able to book an appointment to see a doctor in advance, albeit 3 or so weeks in advance, but for non immediate requirements this was fine. No wonder a&e are inundated. How can this be improved?

Review titled Unexpected treatment
Rated 3 stars out of 5

I received a voicemail for me to call the practice so as advised I called. I explained why I called but I do not know why I was asked to call. I was expecting it was for a blood test that was advised for me from my last consult. I told the doctor during my consult if they can kindly email me the form so I can have them done when I go to work as I work in the hospital. The reason I ask them is because I don't have a car and I'm not feeling very well to walk far just to get the form and schedule another appointment to have my bloods done at the GP. The person I talked to all of the sudden asked me "Who are you to do that?" and I was like what was that supposed to mean? and she asked if can't I access Ice and print it myself? I told her I can but that would mean I will be the one requesting them as my name will show on the request history. I don't want to be in trouble for that. I am so appalled on how she belittled me today. Who am I?????? A patient who a few seconds ago ask her nicely if she can send the form through email. Totally unexpected!
