Review titled Wrong way to inform
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 April 2023
A couple of years ago my wife was admitted to hospital. And during this time she has had many visits to the hospital and Drs, We were told it was realted to her heart. But at no point have we been told what was acctually wrong. On the 6th of April 2023 she recived a letter from the Drs saying she needed to have a blood test and blood pressure check too. How ever the start of this letter had both my wife and I very angry. As it started with On checking your records we note that you have Coronary heart disease ( heart condition). Which my wife and I in the two years of her treatment had never been told, So as you can imagine was one hell of a shock. I called the surgery and the receptionist did apologise, And made an appointment for my wifes blood test and blood pressure check. And she said that we will have the letter explained to us during this appointment. We arrived at the appointment were the Nurse had no knowlege of this and directed me back to the reception. Were when i tried to explain. Why were we told of my wifes very serious condition by a letter. The receptionist did at not point explain this but just pointed out they knew back in 2021. I again asked why did they inform us in such a way. Wich seemed to fall on deaf ears. All in all i did not get an explanation for this. I feel that there is a mass misscomunication in this surgery wich needs to be looked at in house.

Review titled Great practice

More than happy with the care I have received over the last 18 months. The phone has been answered within 10 minutes and my appointments have been booked without fuss. The only improvement would be opening up appointments so I could book online which would save a phone call. All the staff I have dealt with have been friendly and very caring. Well done all

Review titled Poor practice

Phoned in to make an appointment and was on hold for 35 minutes before I spoke to anyone. When I eventually spoke to someone to book appointment it is for 31 March. A wait of three weeks.

Phoned in to get an appointment, was on hold for 45mins before I spoke to anyone. When I asked for an appointment I was told the 31/03/2023. Got to wait 25 days to see a doctor. This is ridiculous.

Review titled The Worst Practice to Exist
Rated 1 star out of 5

It is simply impossible to get an appointment here. You call up at 8 am and now instead of even leaving you on hold, which albeit used to be for 45 minutes but you felt like you were getting somewhere, it now hangs up and says no operators are available which is shocking. There’s no longer an option to book appointments online which makes no sense as surely this helps the call log. The receptionists are usually rude if you do get through. I’ve been going to this practice for years and it gets worse and worse as time goes on. I’ll have to change practice to somewhere further away and more inconvenient but I need to actually be seen.

Review titled Service abysmal
Rated 1 star out of 5

Can't get an appointment, despite being told my high blood pressure requires medication. Went online today to order my other medication and the server is not responding. If you ring up its at least an hour to get through, so we end up driving into town to speak to the receptionist, who is lovely, but after an hour listening to that bingy bongy music, while on hold it is more than a little frustrating. If the doctors are n't issuing appointments, what are they doing? everyone we speak to has the same problem, I'd like some information on how many of the patients are actually being seen

The surgery has an appalling appointment booking procedure where you can only book an appointment on the day you phone and never for any future dates. This means, that unless you phone at 8am then you can never get an appointment to see a doctor. I regularly try and book for my elderly mother who cannot navigate the automated phone system, and can never achieve anything as the receptionists hold all the power and to be honest are not always helpful. I have also had numerous instances when appointments haven't been booked despite being told over the phone they have, meaning it is a massive inconvience to myself and my mother by bringing her up to surgery only to be told there's no actual appointment. The doctors themselves are not too bad, however they are let down by the sheer ability of being blocked to see them. Honestly, just avoid this surgery and go elsewhere.

Review titled Disappointed, an understatement!

14 days post-op for breast cancer, unable to drive. Concerned I have a chest infection requiring antibiotics. Rang, kept waiting ages to be told no appoints left, nor emergency, nor phone consultations. Told to ring at 8am, which is what I did today!! Suggested I call 111, they told me they would try to get my surgery to respond!! No further on. Have you any idea how hard it is to cough with 2 post-op breasts?? I have only managed to see a doctor face to fact once in 3 years. No med checks or anything, it's ridiculous.
