Review titled Great advice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Malcolm Doubleday - Posted on 26 October 2024
I am pleased that I was told to go to the City Hospital ( originally I did not want to go) at Peterborough straight away by your triage nurse ( works as paramedic normally) after checking my blood pressure because during my booking in at the A & E reception I started to collapse. I was then wheel chaired immediately onto the ward for assessment and treatment. I can not fault the nhs.

I phoned late Friday afternoon 6 September 2024 with an issue. Receptionist noted the details and said a Clinician would call me back. Received a call shortly afterwards and within an hour I had been issued with relevant medication. Friendly and very efficient service, from Receptionist, Clinician and Pharmacist. Excellent service, thankyou.

I have a minor wound infection that was getting worse. Phoned Munro on 26.07.24 at 11:25 to make an appointment. By 12:25 that same day I was with a nurse I am not allowed to name, who dealt quickly and professionally with my infection. Brilliant first class service, so many thanks to Munro.

Review titled Staffing Issues, so do best on what little they have
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 July 2024
Didn't feel reassured. Housebound patient needed doctor callout, they sent something else; they could have explained it but didn't. It felt off-putting when the surgery do an obvious dupe of calling staff 'clinicians' to attempt to hide the fact that they are lower-qualified, lower-trained, less-experienced staff who are not actual doctors, or fully experienced senior nurses. Saying they are sending a 'clinician' when housebound patients with no other options have rung for a doctor callout, does feel like they are trying to lie to us. It doesn't help us feel trusting towards the surgery or the staff. Sent someone who said they were a 'paramedic', and we have no idea as ordinary patients what level of training that is, or ability to diagnose and/or prescribe. The only other place we patients come across paramedics are ambulance crew who absolutely do not and cannot diagnose; that's what those say, so we can only assume what they say is true. Lack of staff are ruining this GP practice, badly limiting what access to a doctor or nursing senior this GP surgery can provide.

Dear Anonymous. Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you were not completely satisfied with the care you received on this occasion. We are aware that the appearance of General Practice is changing and there is now a large multi disciplinary team at the practice offering care to our patients from pharmacy, mental health, nursing and paramedic backgrounds, as well as our doctors and GP Registrars. We try to inform our patients as much as possible how these roles fit into the care you receive at Munro Medical Centre and display these on the practice website and social media. Please be assured that all the staff who work at Munro Medical Centre receive additional training to enable them to provide the appropriate level of care in general practice. Our Paramedic Team are no different and have also completed the necessary qualifications to be able to prescribe medication in their own right. Should you wish to contact me directly, please email the practice licb.c83022MMCADMIN@nhs.net. Regards Mary Barnes, Practice Manager

Review titled Very very bad service
Rated 1 star out of 5

I have 9 years old son. He started to have stomach pains so we contacted our local GP. They checked stomach and sent us back. Pain havent reduced, so we contacted again - same story - no tests runs and sent us home. After a week - pain still and was worst. Contacted GP again - their comments was: if it pain consistence why you are here not in Hospital? We asked if they could do stool and wee samples at least. After few mins of arguing they agreed and found infection. Prescribed antibiotics as it was to late for other medicine. After 2 weeks we came back to GP as he was still in pain. GP done nothing - even check up if infection was gone. We end up in A&E in hospital. Hospital, after checking notes from GP found errors so asked us do do another sample. Today I came back with samples to Munro Medical centre - and they did not except our samples - they even havent let us to meet or receive call from nurse or doctor. Pain for my son started in November today is February and I feel like going nowhere, my son still in pain. Hospital are busy - but what we should do if our GP does nothing and little boy still in pain? I am still at home and have no idea how to help my boy or what to do

Review titled Thankyou Clinician
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Christine Hunt - Posted on 24 January 2024
My story is long but I'm petrified of medical intervention and so it took a year and a half for me to get the guts to book an appointment. Tonight I saw a lovely female clinician that listened and took me seriously and I can't thank you enough. I seriously hope you are a permanent addition.

I attended with a lower respiratory tract infection and received the most professional care. The staff are truly wonderful, the receptionist was most helpful in getting me a quick appointment with The nurse who was free, warm and caring.
