Review titled Mostly great experiences!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 12 April 2024
As with any dealings where you might encounter a different person every time, this surgery is no different. I've found the doctors to be knowledgeable and empathetic, listening to what I've got to say and treating me appropriately and respectfully with regards to my conditions. Of course, there is a rare experience, for example, with a certain practice nurse as she was very dismissive of my complaints with an air of knowing better than me as though she's lived with my chronic conditions as long as, or longer, than I have. Overall, I think this surgery is pretty good! As someone who often has to deal with the GP due to chronic conditions, I do appreciate the ability to send in an online form describing my issues - these are often responded to the same day with an appointment same/next day depending on the urgency. Sometimes, I simply get prescribed medication without needing to see a doctor as they trust that I know myself and my symptoms well enough. This is very much appreciated. I really like that they've taken to texting acute medication barcodes to you as well - the pharmacy next door makes this a very fast and efficient process so you're not having to go back later that day when the prescriptions come across from the surgery.

Review titled Phone contact is about impossible!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 September 2023
I have been unsuccessfully trying to phone the surgery for over a week. It either reports that there is over a 100 in the queue and cuts you off, or the “call back” function is never on. I queued for over 1 hour and 50 minutes to make a bloods appointment a few weeks ago and over one and a half hours this week, still to be “over 30” in the queue, and I had to put the phone down, as it was getting near to the office closing and I knew my wait would be in vain. For housebound patients this is totally unacceptable. For those with complicated or chronic illnesses who need to check things out or make appointments it is a stressful nightmare. The drs are very nice, and very good, the nursing staff are always great, but you can never get past the not fit for purpose phone system to get to see anyone nowadays. It is also unfair in the message on the phone to blame striking NHS staff as to why there is a demand on the phone. Modality has taken over several surgeries in our area and instead of being able to phone our own surgery, there is one, completely inadequately staffed office to phone. I have been with this surgery many years, and understand the constraints and demands on the NHS, my family all working in various roles across various hospitals, but this is totally unacceptable, and I suspect against Disability access guidelines? When the Call Back system is switched on, it is brilliant, but this is only rarely working in my experience.

Dear Patient I am sorry to see that you have struggled to contact the Practice via the telephone. We are currently experiencing increased demand on our telephone lines and our care navigation team has been working very hard to answer calls under the additional pressure. I recognise that difficulties in accessing the Practice can be extremely frustrating for our patients and I apologise unreservedly for any upset or inconvenience. Kind regards Patient Experience Team

Review titled Utterly terrible phone service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Adrian Tether - Posted on 25 September 2023
I don't know what's going on but you now have to leave your phone your date of birth and some binary machine then gives you the 3 options you don't need and not the one you do.... This place has gone down hill the better tech it seems to get. Lets hope we don't replace the staff with computers as well... Ai nurses and dr's working like the phone system would be catastrophic.

Review titled Terrible
Rated 1 star out of 5

Getting an appointment is a nightmare. And if you are lucky to get an appointment you are left in waiting over an hour. The practice should invest in virtual app for patients to be able to book an appointment and even have one. Sometimes is just a 3 minutes chat to get a refferal. Absolute nightmare. You are always adviced to go to hospital if you have an emergency. So what the practice is saying....we can't help you prevent becoming an emergency. No wonder the A&E is so overwhelmed.

Review titled Never had so much hassle with a surgery !
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 July 2023
Apart from the usual "you are beyond 30 in the queue" that everyone gets here, when you ring the practice for anything, they then argue with you when you request meds you've been taking for over 5yrs on & off when needed and are the only ones that work, then only get half the quantity at half the required dose and when you request another prescription for more, you just get a text saying you need a review, even though the doctor tells you to request more when needed ? If you want proper treatment, then go elsewhere, as you won't get it here !

Review titled Ignorant
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Tina Tranmer - Posted on 25 July 2023
Don't know why my son was sent all this way. We live other side of Hull. The doctor who saw us seemed unable to grasp my son's condition. Having to explain myself and my son's history of excema, Autism diagnosis and severe anxiety. He just didn't seem to take my word for it. It's all in black and white on my son's notes but he kept asking if he had a diagnosis! As if I'm going to lie about that! And he still didn't do a prescription for my son's severe eczema after going all this way. It was pointless as this doctor was clearly ignorant to what I was saying. Waste of time. I hope he's done the referral for Camhs. I'll be fuming otherwise.

Review titled Nothing but hassle & problems from this surgery.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 May 2023
I’ve had nothing but problems and negative experiences with this GP surgery. If it’s not prescriptions being ‘lost’ or taken away it’s doctors disregarding your mental struggles or symptoms of severe conditions. I would not recommend this surgery to my next door neighbours dog! It’s a constant fight with this place and if I could give it 0 stars I would. I understand there’s a strain on the NHS and it’s a massive struggle but it’s every time and with every patient. Avoid this place at all costs!
