Review titled Thorough…caring…professional…
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Chris - Posted on 13 January 2024
Thorough, caring and professional patient service from the 3 doctors, nurse and support staff that I’ve seen. Erring only on the side of caution, they all seem to include the patient as part of the my medical team. Bravo and brava to this vital team for the well-being of Benson…

Review titled MillStream Surgery gets top marks

Millstream Surgery gets top marks. From my own experience, kindness and understanding is there in heaps from all the staff, particularly GPs. Doctors have to keep up to date with new knowledge and this never stops. Most jobs are progressive, but not involving human lives. It is a shame that this is not realised by the powers that be. These gifted souls must be allowed to rest and not harried at every corner. Our surgery, even though we are swamped by new houses, still manage to look on the bright side, and I applaud them for their kindness and care.

Dear Evelyn Thank you very much for taking the time and opportunity to share your thoughts and comments on NHS Choices about Mill Stream Surgery and the team. We all work so hard and it is great for the team when we receive such lovely feedback. We are working particuarly hard to ensure we have the capacity to look after new patients who move into the additional housing which is just being built. I will share your comments with the team in our staff newsletter. Many thanks again for your kind review. Best wishes Karen Washbourn Practice Manager

Review titled very bad experiences
Rated 2 stars out of 5

A patient for many years without problem I was told by the practice manager by mail that I will be removed, after having problems over the years and been helped by my GP years ago, this shock had an extremely negative effect on my health. Requiring extra medication. A direct result of not understanding my history, and a lack of understanding by the manager who made matters worse.

Dear Patient/Former Patient Thank you for making your comments on NHS Choices. Firstly we would like to apologise for any distress you have experienced, as this was not our intention. We have been asked by the Primary Care Team in the Integrated Care Board to write to all patients who live outside our practice boundary area asking them to reregister with another practice (for the reasons outlined below). A letter was sent by post to all patients explaining the reasons why we were needing to ask patients who were living outside of our practice area. There has been a lot of additional house building in the local area and as a practice following discussions with the Primary Care Team in the Integrated Care Board and our Patient Participation Group, we need to ensure that we have enough clinical staff and space in our premises in order to manage the number of patients we have on our list. We therefore undertook this process in order to be able to look after people who live closest to the surgery are fortunate in this area that all local practices provide excellent clinical care. We are aware that many patients found the need to leave the practice a difficult one. I am really sorry that you felt I did not understand your history. As you have made your comments anonymously with no contact details I cannot contact you to provide you with further information. I am very happy to discuss with you directly – please contact me via our email address admin.millstream@nhs.net and mark for my attention. I look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes Karen Washbourn Practice Manager
