    I have been trying for 3 weeks to get an appointment. I am calling every day from 8am onwards only to be met with the engaged tone constantly! It's so frustrating! I have even completed the online consultation twice in this time to see if I can get help. Aside from the email acknowledgement I've heard nothing back from anyone! During the latest online consultation I got the red banner, stating this needs urgent attention, of course it does. But can I get through? Not a chance. An absolute joke, my colleagues at work are all getting face to face appointments with their GPS in busier areas..so what gives here?

    Dear Lisa Thank you for your comment and we apologies that you have been having difficulties obtaining an appointment with the practice and the frustration that this as caused you. Due to the demand at present, it is extremely busy on the telephones and the telephone lines only hold 50 patients in the queue, we appreciate this is not ideal and we are currently working with our telephone provider to see how we can improve this service for patients accessing the practice. We have amended staff working hours so that we have more staff available to answer the telephone calls at 8.00am so help with the volume of calls. The online consultation service is monitored daily, but it is not available for patients to book an appointment or for any urgent medical conditions as the online consultations are intermittently monitored. If it is an urgent medical condition, then you would be required to contact the practice directly and if it is to book an appointment you would either need to book an appointment through the online access appointments on Systm1 online or telephone the practice. We are currently offering both telephone triage and telephone face to face appointment for all patients. You can now pre-book appointments either at the practice or the additional provision we are providing through GP Care Wakefield at Ossett Village.
