Apart from not seeing an actual GP (which I'm fairly sure was the case) I was very pleased & grateful to be seen on the same day and very puntually as well.

It would be helpful if staff assessing whether to offer an appt had a little common sense. I was offered a ‘tele consult’ which turned out to be in two and half weeks time, despite being number five in the queue, for a review of an ongoing ear condition which I needed repeat medication for urgently. I couldn’t get the prescription without having my ears checked so how a tele consult would have helped I really don’t know. In general, trying to get an appt is very difficult. Most of the time there is no chance. Even the phone system asks if you’re ‘hoping’ to make an appt!

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I am sorry to hear that you were advised it couldn't be that bad and the service you received on this occasion was dissatisfactory. Unfortunately I have been unable to investigate this as your review is anonymous. I will try and explain the usual process for you. When the doctor reviews results they may file them as requiring a routine appointment which you would normally be added to a waiting list for. If they feel a more urgent appointment is required then this will be arranged. Once you reach the top of the waiting list, you would be contacted to make this appointment. In your case, you were still having symptoms that would need to be triaged by the duty doctor. Our duty list is available Monday to Friday 8am-12pm as you were advised. The duty doctor triages, based on the information given to the receptionist, for what they feel is the most appropriate appointment. This could be for the same day or for in the future, particularly if we can obtain continuity for the patient with the same GP. If you feel the appointment does not meet your needs you can contact us again, on a different day, to be re-triaged. It is useful at this stage if you can give the receptionist as much information as possible to help the duty GP with the triage process. If you would like your individual case looked at, please email me on sxicb-wsx.ltsreception@nhs.net Kind regards Sarah, Deputy Patient Services Manager

I was phoned from the surgery and the caller was very helpful. The difficulty for patients contacting the surgery is the reason for the lower score.

Having completed an econsult form I was contacted later the same day by a doctor who discussed my concerns with me and agreed to see me the following day. This was a prompt and satisfactory response

Tried tonnage an appointment on Weds at 2pm as my symptoms were worsening and had been unwell for 13 days by then . The receptionist informed me there were no appointments and I would have to wait to ring 111 at 6pm . This was with me explaining I’m asthmatic, was struggling breathing and had considerable pain in my lung area and could not digest food without feeling there was restriction on airway. I rang at 8am ( call back was answered at 9:19am) after symptoms taken was called back at 11am with a 2pm appointment. This is not satisfactory , asthma kills !!

Staff are very polite and helpful , pleasant to talk to over the phone, it makes a difference when you’re not feeling well and you talk to someone with a reassuring tone in their voice.

I always plan to arrive early for any appointment and on this occasion I was 8 minutes early. I was checked in, straight through to the nurse for both Covid and Flu injections, neither of which did I feel, and straight out to my wife in the car. I left Durrington before my appointment time. Excellent service, thank you.
