    Gave my Covid vaccine to someone else! Had to go elsewhere. Disgusting, no apology proffered. Identified a referral elsewhere was required - was not done. Had to get it chased up myself. Again no apology. They acted as though it was common. Applied to join the patient reference group, after 8 weeks, still heard nothing. Clearly trying to fix it exclude anyone who may provide challenge to them. Trying to stifle criticism and manage their stats to look good. Disgusting. Usually one particular staff member on reception who invariably displays nothing but a cold heartless approach to her work. In the wrong job. Further feedback to follow? Hope not. Will the leopard change its spots?

    Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, we always appreciate all feedback, and appreciate any constructive feedback to help us improve our service. I’m sorry to hear that your experience has not lived up to your expectation, we would be grateful if you could contact our PM outlining in more detail the issues you have experienced so that we may look into things further and address any shortcomings. When it comes to Covid vaccines specifically, unfortunately we only get a certain number delivered, they are distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Thankfully there is a national booking system, and if we have run out then there are other providers who can administer the vaccine. We will also be getting more stock in shortly for those who are happy to wait. As an organisation we really do strive to provide the best care for everyone, and take onboard all feedback, be it positive or negative so that we can keep ensuring that our service provision is the best it can be. So in this regard, I hope we don’t change our spots.

    I visited the health centre this Friday afternoon and have to say how impressed I was. The receptionist was extremely helpful and answered all my queries. The GPs are nothing but helpful and I have never had an issue with the appointment system and always get offered an appointment in a suitable time frame. Thank you Kirkburton health centre.

    Some pointless texts. Get reminders to book for something even after it is booked. Have given feedback when asked to before. But as it was broadly negative I never got any response. No acknowledgement nor an apology, nothing.

    I visited at 930 to explain my mental & emotional being to the doctor & the stress causing cough & aches. After listening to my problem I was told that my 15 mins was up & that he has another patient & will not be able to attend to me. Requested that I make another appointment. There was no compassion or empathy shown to my circumstances. I was offered a piece of tissue as I got emotional because I was narrating my husband’s illness & with no family support . It ended abruptly & was politely told that I need to leave. Doctors are supposed to be compassionate, here I was marched off to make a request for further sick note & a new appointment for my health issues.

Please be mindful that your appointment was for 15 minutes and the clinician can see one problem during that appointment time due to patient safety. Please do not hestitate to book a further appointment, or alternatively please ask for a double appointment. Thank you

    Appalling new e-consult system. I am reasonably ok on my laptop but even though I had written out relevant details yesterday, it still took 25 minutes to complete. Yesterday pharmacists said I should definitely see a doctor today with bad reaction to an antibiotic. So have I seen a doctor - no.I have been asked to send a photo and had a call from a nurse practioner, thats because I was prepared to make a complaint. As soon as this health issue is sorted out, I will be leaving Kirkburton as fast as possible. I was asked to review the new system, which I have, all I can say is I have yet to speak to anyone who likes the system

  7. Review titled e-consult working very well

    I recently needed hospital admission for an emergency operation. I was in a lot of pain, and decided that contacting the practice by e-consult might be the quickest way to be seen, as the messages are triaged. I was phoned back, and seen within an hour, the sent to the surgical assessment unit. I was dealt with much more quickly and efficiently than if I had gone to accident and emergency. I like the e-consult system, as you can think about all the information you need to give, and not forget anything. I have used it several times over the last few months. On one occasion, I had a test arranged before talking to the doctor about the result, saving us both time.

    Don’t often need my GP but I have a few times over the last couple of years. Always great, good availability of appointments and takes the time to listen to my concerns. Such a contrast to the neighbouring practice in Skelmanthorpe. Always recommend this practice to other locals.
