Review titled Terrible GP practice with terrible receptionists

I started off by calling the gp surgery early in the morning at 8am for an appointment. I was told I was in a queue of over 50 people. I waited for over two hours to get to the top of the queue and when I got to the top of the queue I got cut off. This continued for over a week. After continuously trying to get through, When someone did finally pick up my call, they told me all appointments were gone. I told them I’ve been waiting in the queue for over two hours now, and I’ve been ringing in all week. (First of all why make people wait for that long in a queue if all appointments are gone) He advised me to come to the surgery early in the morning in order to get an appointment, rather than call in. At this point I was really frustrated, but said thankyou and put the phone down. The next day I walked to the surgery as advised by the receptionist. When I got there I found a receptionist sat at the front desk. I explained I needed an appointment with the doctor. She said we dont book appointments face to face, you have to call in to get an appointment. Her town of voice and manner in which she spoke was very degrading and unprofessional. I explained I had been told by a receptionist to come in the morning to book an appointment. She shouted: well he’s knew and he doesn’t know! ( as if it’s my fault that the staff at this surgery do not communicate with each other) she was so horrible, spoke in such a degrading manner. When I explained I needed to see the gp for back pain, she shouted well you need to see a physio for that, gp can’t see you for that. I left the surgery being made to feel so small, like someone who was wasting their time. I only went to the surgery to ask for a appointment with the gp, not to be insulted. She made me feel so uncomfortable. She was rude, impolite, bad-mannered and is a person who nreds to learn how to interact with others.

Incredibly difficult to get an appointment. Just referral to walk in. Staff bemoan staff shortages, long patient list. Phone service still references an app booking system no longer used and redundant website. Only plus is the GPs are great

We are sorry to hear of your experience at Kingsway HC, we are merging with Bramingham Medical Centre on the 23 January 24, we hope this will give more opportunity for our patient to be seen at both practices. It has been raised with Senior Management regarding the reference on the phone service regarding the reference to booking system, and the redundant web site, all patients should have received a text message and a letter informing that this Website and App is no longer in service and we apologise if you was not included. We will update the message as soon as possible to rectify this mistake.

Tried to book an appointment and every day I tried in the morning from 8:00 to 9:20. After this they said there is no available appointment for today. Always keep you in line for long time and then don’t give appointments. The receptionist was very rude too. They act too bossy and not helpful. Do not recommend them for any one

We would like to apologise that you where unable to get an appointment when you called, we do experience a lot of calls during the time frame that you have mentioned, We will soon be combining Bramingham and Kingsway Practices together, this will help to make more appointment availability, and reduce the time wait for calls to be responded too. We will also address with the administration team that you found the reception staff rude and not helpful in our team meetings as this is not part of our values, that we expect for all staff to be led by.

This being the third time my prescription comes to me late.For me this is a big big deal. You say it should be ready on five days,no chance.This time l have had a very stressful four days.l just hope l will receive it Monday.

I went in nearly 2 weeks ago to ask for a medical summary, was asked to complete a request form, according to which it would take 7 days, 2 weeks on and it still hasn’t been done. Spoke to the practice today only to be fobbed off ! The medical secretary quite conveniently was in a meeting and not able to take my call, but she managed to pass a message via reception that the request would be ready at the end of the week. The practice goes from bad to worse, they don’t appear to have enough staff, and the ones they do have definitely need to be trained on customer service. Their are never any appointments, you are waiting in a cue for upto 40 - 50 mins at times, it seems to have become the norm to be caller no 35 +

what an aweful experience with this practice, been calling them since 8 am in the morning and waited for almost 2 hrs and still no responce again called this afternoon and waited for almost 40 mins and still no answer. all I wanted was a cream that my brother who is pharmacist and a doctor recommended to get for my finger The service is absolute rubbish .

I got there five minutes before my appointment and was seen more or less straight away, the lady who done my scan was really helpful, friendly, lovely and took time to tell me what was happening

The scanner was extremely reassuring, competent and empathetic towards me. She answered all questions that my husband and I had and we left feeling very happy and relieved in comparison to what we have felt from other scanners and visits in different surgeries. The surgery itself had no idea that I was booked for a scan and appeared very disorganised, however the lady who attended to me was very competent and would recommend the practice for the procedure I came for.

I was unavoidably delayed to my scan appointment, but rang to inform that I was 5 minutes away. I waited a short while having been directed by a polite receptionist. The young lady who conducted my scan was polite, friendly, very smiley and informative. I couldn't have wanted a better experience. Excellent facility, clean, tidy and bright. Good parking too.
