  1. Review titled Impossible to book an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 December 2022

I was unable to book a simple telephone consultation with a GP (or indeed any sort of appointment) through the app, so I called the practice. I waited 45 minutes on hold. When I finally got through, I was told the surgery is only able to book GP and PA appointments on a same day basis. Even if they are non-urgent telephone consultations. I was told to call at 8am later in the week. To call in at 8am to book a non-urgent telephone appointment seems completely pointless and places undue pressure on reception staff to answer the many, many calls they are flooded with as soon as the lines open. It also means that people with urgent and non-urgent queries are left waiting in the same telephone queue. And finally, as someone who works in a hospital, I am finding it impossible to arrange my own healthcare around my job. At least I am lucky enough that my query is not urgent. I feel incredibly sorry for those who are in real need, but are unable to jump through the millions of hoops it takes to talk to a GP.

  2. Review titled Full blood check up

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Evanthia Stergiou - Posted on 22 September 2022

I usually do it once per year. They insisted to book appointment at 8:30am when the GP is open from 8:00. The nurse was late and the test was only half of the usual one I do, excluded thyroids, which I asked for and the doctor confirm to me on the telephone that he will include all the blood tests count. The wanted to test again a part of it and again the same late appointment and the nurse to come in the practice after 8:30am.... I do not understand why the staff in the practice cannot be there to perform their duties on time and why they do not book appointments earlier. Pre covid the GP had much better service than now and I do take into account any COVID excuses any more. Especially for the reason that the staff are late. I paid enough taxes for NHS, if the GP are not running well, they should close them down. And when I need to do some tests and I can do it through the GP service, they should give me the service because they exist from the taxes I pay. I have to pay extra now to do all the tests and I still pay the tax for them to be paid. The waiting area was empty both days. It looks like they do not really want to work, but they receive a full monthly salary.

Dear Evanthia, Thank you for sharing your experience. I am sorry to hear that you have not received the service that you were expecting. As we have discussed over the phone I could see in your records that there was no significant delay to your appointments. I have also explained that our staff aim to be on site earlier than their start time in order to prepare for the shift ahead. Unfortunately due to circumstances that are out of our control such as public transport strikes, staff sometimes can run late and we do take full responsibility for that. I am sorry once again that you feel we have not met your expectations. Kind Regards Agnieszka Jaruga Practice Manager

  3. Review titled Terrible Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by ZENIA - Posted on 21 September 2022

I had ordered my repeat prescription on 8th Sep. I had a call with the Nurse on 9th Sep to confirm the prescription assuring me that the prescription will be ready for collection in 2 days. I went to the pharmacy on 11th to collect the prescription and they said that they hadn't yet received the prescription. I then called Kings Road Medical Centre, waiting 37 minutes on the phone to speak with someone and they promised me that the prescription will be ready by the afternoon. Today is the 21st and there is still no sign of my prescription. This happens a lot at this GP surgery. Sometimes they forget to send the prescription, sometimes they only issue it for a month when I need it for 3 months each time. Someone needs to look into this absolutely rubbish customer service. I will not recommend this surgery practice to anyone.
