  1. Review titled Extremely Rude and unprofessional Receptionist

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Rita Plaster - Posted on 04 November 2024

This afternoon at 14.30 4th November 2024, I needed some information from the surgery. I approached the reception where a receptionist was sitting and intermittently talking to the lady sitting behind her. I waited patiently for her to finish talking and to acknowledge my presence. However, she blatantly ignored me and continued to keep her head down, after about 5 minutes I asked her if I was invisible? She continued in what she was doing, I repeated the question to which she responded “I am busy doing prescriptions” she put her head back down and continued with what she was doing! I told her she was extremely rude and walked out of the surgery! Prior to retirement I worked in the NHS for 30 years and never ever treated anyone which such disrespect!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Emma Folkes - Posted on 16 October 2024

The nurse I saw today was wonderful and was able to put me at ease immediately. We chatted during the appointment and it helped me greatly to calm down. Everything was done so professionally and the experience overall has made me feel very comfortable to come back for my yearly reviews.

Saw a female Dr who listened to my concerns patiently Appropriate tests were arranged, felt reassured On leaving had to wait to see a very hard working receptionist who was kind and courteous to everyone she even had a smile which given how rude some people appeared to me to be, was refreshing Good experience Thank you

  4. Review titled Fantastic Receptionist

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 October 2024

I attended your new site at Hasley Road on Thursday morning 3rd October and I was greeted by your usual receptionist who was at Cater Street as always she was very polite, friendly and very helpful, she dealt with my queries for me before I waited in the lovely new waiting room for my appointment, I watched her as she dealt with the many new patients that had come for their appointments with the other clinics and she was handling them as if she had been dealing with them for years, she was also chatting with the other staff members from the clinics and on two occasions while I was there heard them saying how lovely she was and also the other patients said exactly the same. I was a little nervous going to the new building but I must say she quickly put me at ease, well done and a big thank you to her, a true credit to your surgery

Dear Patient, thank you for your feedback, it is so nice when patients take the time to give us positive reviews, we are pleased that you found your first visit to our new site at Halsey Road a good experience. Our staff from Cater Street have transferred over as you have mentioned and it has been a great first week settling in, meeting the other staff who work there in clinics. The waiting room as you say is lovely, spacious, bright, it will soon have a TV screen and notice boards. Thank you for your comments we will feed them back to the team Kind regards Alison Ryder - Management team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by MR A G LABROM - Posted on 19 September 2024

I am delighted to once again repeat the compliments I expressed some time ago . From a very caring and sensitive receptionist my case was dealt with in a way that that I can & should praise for all involved including my last appointment with the nurse . It's so easy to complain & find fault but how many who complain could ever do as well or better ?! Thanks to all concerned .

  7. Review titled Amazing Receptionist

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by Carly S - Posted on 27 September 2024

I popped into the St John’s Branch on the evening of Monday 23rd. I wish I could remember the receptionists name, but she really went out of her way to get the support I needed for my severely disabled brother. She called me on Tuesday 24th to ensure that someone had contacted me (which they hadn’t at this point), so she chased the phone call. It really does make the world of difference when someone genuinely helps and supports you in getting seen, especially when your life is extremely chaotic. Credit where credit is due. She is an asset to your team.

  8. Review titled Exceptional service twice in the last week

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 August 2024

Firstly, I went to St Johns surgery Friday 16th August around lunchtime. I had several requests that I needed fulfilling - the Receptionist was so polite, courteous and resolved all of my queries in such a friendly efficient way, I thank you. Secondly, I went to St Johns for my Diabetic annual review Wednesday 21st August and the lovely nurse was so professional with a lovely bedside manner that put me at ease, especially when an unexpected problem arose with my health . Two very exceptional experiences from dedicated experienced staff who you are lucky to have. Many thanks

Attended the surgery on 31st August for a minor surgical procedure. The Doctor involved and her nurse put me at ease and made the whole experience painless and easy. Since the procedure I have not experienced any discomfort and I have not felt that I need painkillers. Overall a first class job. Thank you!

  10. Review titled A comedy of errors

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 August 2024

I care for my elderly father 93 and my mother 87. Dad had a stroke a few years back and mum suffers from dementia. Dad had his yearly diabetes bloods done. A few weeks after the diabetic Nurse calls my daughter who is second contact error number 1. I then called the nurse and asked for the actions required for my father and asked her why she contacted my daughter when I was the main carer and first contact, only to be questioned myself about why my daughter was on there ask contact. We done agreed that a fit and stool sample would be taken from him and a urine sample. The nurse told me that she would put a note on the system for king street to take it in as they cant be asked to do this anymore. Error number 2 not done. I called as the stool sample were difficult to get as he has been going when I am not there. The urine one I had was ok to bring just that in for now. She had to contact someone to get guidance and as promised called me back(thank you), yes bring in the sample and they will print the corresponding sheet to go with it. Error number 3 after waiting for the receptionist for finish her chit chat with a colleague I presented her with the sample and explained I was to bring it and the would print off the tests requested. Only to be told there is nothing on his record requesting a urine test and there was nothing she could do. After asking to speak to the Practice manager she found a way of confirming every thing I said then to be told that the sample was no good and a new was required. I said thank you and I understand it wasn't the receptionist fault what had happened error4 to be replied with " well its like you do" and not in a polite way. Its difficult enough caring and watching your parents going down hill, I don't need a practice charged with looking after elderly people to compound the situation. I will be raising a complaint about my and my fathers treatment from a below satisfactory surgery pay rise for Dr and surgery staff? They don't deserve it.
