  2. Review titled Superb welcoming caring practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Killick surgery are just brilliant. I moved across from another local surgery which was a mess. They have been outstanding and even more so since I have become pregnant. I also request medication reviews through the NHS app and a pharmacist often rings the same day. When I recently had morning sickness which I didn’t know if was severe to seek help but worried as I couldn’t keep down medication and wasn’t sleeping, the doctor was so compassionate and kind. Getting me medication and reassuring me. This has been life changing. I’m able to eat small amounts, I’m not sick multiple times a day and she has made life worth living again. They are so quick with all admin and support. Recently when I had a longstanding stomach issue they were so diligent in checking up. With all the stuff in the media about GPs I wanted to review because they truly are amazing. Quick to respond, available, caring and responsive.

  3. Review titled Top Marks As Always

Rated 5 stars out of 5

After calling the practice yesterday morning, I was called back by my Dr. promptly. A prescription was organised & today I'm already starting to feel better. My regular Dr. is the best I've ever had, never rushes & listens to what I have to say. Thank you to him and the entire Practice.

  4. Review titled Blaming for making up sickness

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I called regarding my period cramps which have been an issue since 1-2 years now. I tried contraception, had withdrawal bleeding after stoppingi it and the gp referred for an ultrasound. Meanwhile, I started having cramps 6 days before my period and called Killick Street. They had sent me a text message on 18th to discuss the result of my ultrasound in which they found a fibroid. My appointment was scheduled on 29 August. While I waited for my appointment to discuss my cramps as well which I have had for about 8 days now, I was sent another text message saying that due to staff sickness my appointment is rescheduled to 31 August. I got another text msg later stating that my appointment was wrongly scheduled on 31, it is actually on 5th September. This is when I called them to explain I have cramps since last 7 days, my ultrasound showed a fibroid and now my period is late. Can I speak to a doctor because I am in pain. At first I was told that there is no appointment and mo doctor available. Later today, another staff member called me to say, first time when we scheduled, you didn’t have a problem and now all of a sudden you have cramps. This is the staff member who I have talked to in the past and their tone is always accusatory. I wouldn’t have bothered to call if I knew that I would be questioned for having a health issue that the doctor is already aware of since last few months. I think a twice to call the practice anyway because I am scared that this staff member would pick up the phone. I have survived with pain killers for 8 days and I can suffer for one more week, but it is no way to talk to patient saying that you didn’t have a problem then and you have it now. I have repeatedly told doctors about my cramps and how my pms is getting worse every month. My condition may not be important but I am living with it.

  5. Review titled Great continuity of care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

So lovely to see my GP today. Seems so unusual to have continuity of care with one’s gp these days. But makes such a difference, and I really appreciate her care, and the sense of relationship with my doctor. We covered a number of issues today, and I feel listened to and looked after. Brilliant. Please hang onto your named doctor system!

  6. Review titled an efficient and committed practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tom Jupp - Posted on 24 December 2022

I have been to the practice three times this year. Each time my experience was the same; helpful receptionist, quick call back from the doctor and completely satisfactory consultation. I am surprised it has remained as good as ever throughout the year. Yesterday was typical and I am already feeling better today as a result. I know the pressure GPs are under at the moment and I can only express my gratitude.

  7. Review titled Admin/reception staff are rude

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 September 2022

Working in the reception/administration team must be very challenging, but if the doctors, nurses and Ha's at Killick Street can treat patients well (as they always have done in my experience) I am sure the practice can put in measures to ensure this happens consistently at reception. Then it would be a fantastic practice. There are many challenges facing primary care currently, but being rude to patients (& there are a number of other reviews on here where people have been left in tears) isn't going to make anyone's life better. I now dread ringing or sending in a request and avoid contact if at all possible, due to multiple instances of rudeness. There seems to an attitude that the whole place would run much better without the patients! A change of culture is needed. Please consider additional training for staff.
