Review titled Inefficiency resolved by receptionist
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 October 2024
Had a responsible doctor review my treatment and medication and agreed to continue same and review again in 6 months. I messaged the practice after not receiving prescription and was informed it had been already sent. At pharmacy they confirmed a prescription was received but some of the essential meds were not included. I messaged then had to revisit the practice and fortunately the young receptionist listened to the situation and said she would request the remaining meds as a priority. One message to practice again and matters thankfully resolved.

I was happy with the actions taken to resolve my problem today but even then it highlighted poor communication and a lack of GP appointments.

I needed a fit note as I was recommended sick leave by a private health assessor. Called JaFP 18.10.2024. Was told I was not able to get an appointment whilst 15.11.2024. Appalling and not fit for purpose.

Review titled Very poor practice

I have been attending this surgery with the same problem for 3 months twice I have seen two different practitioners not doctors! To be told you need to see our physio as we can't refare you for images or give you a correct diagnosis as our physio is better qualified then us.i went to doctors last week got checked in to be told appointment had been changed until this week! Not by me it never! I returned this week checked in again to sit for 40 minutes still never got called through,I asked the receptionist how long I would be waiting to be told I'm ever so sorry your appointment has been cancelled at your request! Total rubbish why would I go to two apartments I need if and sit 40 mins each time if I had cancelled them! Why did the receptionist check me in and tell me to take a seat.i never get to see a doctor! I have full bloods done and it takes 4 months for someone to check them since it took over north point medical practice it has been a joke! They tell you that everything is OK then book you in with specialists at hospital and don't even tell you I only found out after I got a letter from hospital. I wouldn't recommend this surgery to anyone it is a shambles.

Review titled Shocking service

While the receptionists are mostly pleasant to talk to, when requesting prescriptions they maybe only put them through 50% of the time. The training of the clinicians is questionable, firstly 2 clinicians saw my 3 month old son who said there was nothing wrong with him other than a cold, 24 hours later he's in hospital with bronchiolitis struggling to breath and dropping oxygen levels. In addition to this my partner was seen by a clinician back in May regarding ear issues, his health records show he has long term damage, called today to ask about his referral to the ear specialist he was promised there's no record of this ever being said and they called me a liar. Issues have resurfaced so called to make an appointment specifically asked no to see the same person, turns up for his appointment and what a surprise its the same person. Partners ears are leaking mucus looking discharge and blood, and he is in excrutiating pain, told there was nothing wrong with them and that this was normal. He's now also sat in urgent treatment centre hoping to see someone who is actually trained. This gp practice is the entire reason bransholme health centre uc is so busy as people get fobbed off by the untrained clinicians so have to attend uc to actually get some help. The practice needs a complete revamp or better still shutting down.

Review titled Unprofessional staff
Rated 1 star out of 5

I attended this practice with my mother who is a patient on Monday after she had been taken by ambulance to HRI in the early hours of Saturday morning with breathing difficulties. She has chronic COPD. The paramedics in attendance thought that her condition was being badly managed by her GP as the medication she is currently taking is totally infective. I told the respiratory nurse practitioner about the episode and how we are very dissatisfied with mum's COPD management and the practice as a whole. The nurse practitioner just sat and cried, acknowledging that her crying was unprofessional. Needless to say, we are changing surgeries as this is not the only issue we have, others being never being able to see a doctor and mum having repeat prescriptions for drugs that are making her ill, with no reviews. Dreadful practice with no real handle on their patients.

Absolutely disgusted to say the least this was my surgery since I was a child I have had on going scalp psyrisosis for nearly two my hair has fallen out bold patches and partially blame this surgery no care involved wrongly advised by there staff that you can have two doctors surgery's so I went to apply for another and then they kicked me out so that was a very obvious nasty move from one of there receptionist I'm left with bald patches, Absolutely damp right disgusted. I lost my appointment had to come of work for a little bit down to stress. I'm a woman with long hair feel depressed, ashamed, hopeless. Absolutely disgusting would not recommend at all!

Review titled Unable to see a Doctor
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 28 February 2024
Problem with pain in back and shoulder. Unable to see a Doctor just Clinician or Trainee Doctor. Problem started in October, had various scans blood tests, put on higher dosage of painkillers. Back pain improved but not shoulder and arm pain. Referred to Pain Management Clinic. By February pain in arm unmanageable offered stronger painkillers. Decided to go private full examination by a Doctor Ultra Sound ordered, nerve problem in the shoulder, cured by injection. All done in 4 days. Wished we had made that decision six months ago. This practice cannot cope with the number of patients used to be brilliant but not know. You cannot put a price on health, we were lucky we could afford to pay, but what about the thousands who can't. It should be our right to see a Doctor.

Review titled Trust in the system

My 19month old son has developed eczema/ dermatitis. After numerous appointments with clinicians i was told there is no more the practice can do to treat him and it will need to be a referral to dermatology. Continue with the treatment plan until then, the treatment plan which is not working/helping. I called today to email in some images of my sons skin, and how it presents to send onto dermatology to hurry them along if at all possible. Shocked to find out by the Advanced care practitioner that there is fact other treatments that can be tried which all being well will help in the mean time if not clear it up. All whilst waiting for the dermatology appointment, which actually had not been made those 3 weeks previously. I am not sure whats worse, the fact my son has had to suffer for weeks because “nothing more the practice can do only dermatology” or that a referral had never been made. Massive Thankyou to the Advanced care practitioner who today went out of his way to call me to not only advise another treatment plan because of how severe my sons skin is, but for doing the referral which should have been made 3 weeks ago, i wish he was there on a permanent basis. I should have trust in my practice, but in all honesty this isnt its first failing that has occurred , with my son or myself. Which is why i chose to follow up with an email today. What had happened if i didnt? I have always been a person to trust the professionals, the clinicians know best. I also appreciate errors and mistakes happen. When it’s multiple erros and they involve my son, there is only myself who can stand up for him. Because its clear the practice either dont take each patient seriously, or they are over run. I have actually had a conversation of the errors made by this practice and he actually asked the question why am i still a patient here after all the mishaps.
