  1. Review titled unable to make an apt

Rated 1 star out of 5

unable to make an apt. to see a Dr either on line or by phone, unable to make an apt for an e consult. Rude, unhelpful reception staff, whose apologies about the poor service provision in so insincere that shes better off not making an apology. I guess Covid is the excuse for the change, in what used to be a very good service here to one where I cannot see a Dr. I have tried on and off for the past few weeks to get an apt to no avail. Even on line bookings are for an apt can only be made between 6.30 a. to 10.30 a.m. Why is this ? Why cant a receptionist just give me a non urgent apt when I call ? I dread to think how the elderly are treated when trying to make an apt . If you are thinking of signing up at this GP think again

Dear Patient, We would like to apologise for your unacceptable experience. The eConsultation service is a mechanism to contact healthcare professionals, and the resources of the NHS are as such that we can only accept eConsults between 6:30am and 10:30am, Monday to Friday. We feel that these opening times are generous and more than comparable to other surgeries. Routine, non-urgent appointments are an issue, because we have had more than 50% DNA rate where patients do not turn up for appointments and fail to cancel. Access to Primary Care is a challenge not only for this surgery, but for every surgery in the UK, and we really are trying given the resources we have. It is very unfair to say that staff are being insincere. Kind regards, Islington Central Medical Centre

  2. Review titled Shockingly bad

Rated 1 star out of 5

Islington Central Medical Center are terrible at patient service and admin. First, it is next to impossible to reach them. We just spent half an hour on the phone waiting on hold only to be hung up on when we reached the front of the queue. This happens routinely. Their online e-consult system is down often, as it is now and has been for days. When it does work and you do get a response to an e-consult submission, it often arrives after the 2-day window they promise. Second, they consistently fail to do the things they say they will do, like send prescriptions to pharmacies, send referrals or information on to specialists, book appointments, etc. Every time they fail to do something, you have to spend another hour on the phone waiting to reach them. Third, they provide no consistency in who provides you with care. Even for a single issue, you might see a different GP every time you reach out. Lastly, all of these issues have been clear for a long time, and they are getting worse not better.

Dear Patient, We are sorry for what is a frustrating and infuriating experience. Whilst there have been long waiting times on the phone, we have put additional resources in to try and address this. We are afraid other aspects of your comments are not entirely accurate, and if you contact us via email on islingtoncentralmc@nhs.net we can discuss this further. Whilst it is gold standard to see the same GP, this is impossible to achieve at any service. Kind regards, Islington Central Medical Centre

  3. Review titled Amazing nurses

The practice nurses are absolute gems! So kind and patient, I've been going twice a week for the last few months and been so anxious - they've really helped me feel a lot better and are clearly fantastic at what they do seeing the progress of my healing. Thank you!
