Review titled Great service
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 29 April 2024
I had a blood test today completed by an extremely competent nurse. I had requested the gentleman by name as it can be difficult to obtain blood from my veins. He was able to complete the process swiftly and without causing me any pain. I am truly grateful to him. The reception staff are always extremely helpful and polite. I am carer for my 94 year old mother and feel confident in always being able to access their invaluable help.

Review titled Extremely concerned
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Gavin Giles - Posted on 26 January 2024
I had already visited the drop in centre at Bridlington hospital with severe pains in my full arm and shoulder and was recommended to obtain co-codamol, ice pack and ibropufin gel you the nurse on duty. I followed the instructions and the next day I had a rash all over my arm still in really severe pains so rang the doctors straight away finally got through and was told to fill the online consultation and attach photos that I did and confirmed with the practice it had been flagged and someone would get back to me I was not sure if I was having an allergic reaction or not to the ibropufin gel. After 2 sleepless nights in agony I rang at 8 o’clock to get an appointment to see a doctor and was told it dose not work like that ? I explained I have filled the consultation form in and was waiting for a reply but no one had replied and had borrowed stronger painkillers from a family member because of the severe pain. I was assured my online consultation form with photos would be shown to a available doctor and would get back within an hour. 2 Hours later I again returned to Bridlington hospital because the pain was so severe I saw one of the nurses on duty and he immediately alerted a Doctor. The Doctor examined my rash and diagnosed it as shingles during the diagnosis my phone rang and was told from Humberside primary care 2 options I could go to Bridlington hospital again or get to Driffield and been seen by a Doctor their but if it is a reaction to the gel trauma could cause hypo ole ice shock. Just by luck there was an attending doctor available or my next option as I explained to all was go to Scarborough A/E. This is the first time in about 12 years I have required to see a Doctor not a good experience and very concerning.

Review titled Terrible no appointments for weeks
Rated 1 star out of 5
by - Posted on 18 January 2024
can only get an appointment if you fill in an online consultation form. You cannot make an appontment any other way. Filled in the form very early Tuesday morning requesting a face to face appointment. Message comes up saying it will be read within 3 days. Contacted by the surgery the following wednesday for a telephone appointment in two weeks time, so 3 weeks for an appointment. Since joining with the other practice the service provided is a complete joke. My friend tried to get an appointment and was told to go to the hospital. I drove her there and we were told over half the people waiting were patients of Humber primary care. Will be trying to change to another GP if possible. It's a disgrace.

Review titled How can I make an appointment?
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Andy - Posted on 14 August 2023
We phoned this practice today at 4pm to try and make a routine appointment for my wife with a nurse for an injection that she requires regularly. I was caller number 12 in the queue. We need this appointment - so I stayed on hold, and occupied myself with other things while I waited. In the end, this practice kept me on hold for 2 hours. During that period, I advanced from number 12 in the queue to number 3. I got repeated reminders over the 2 hour period that I could book appointments online via their app. This is untrue. The app has no appointments available. It never has when I’ve looked. After 2 hours, at 6pm I was abruptly cut off. There appears to be no means of contacting this surgery electronically, via e mail etc. From a patient’s perspective, I feel like they are literally closing off all forms of contact. My wife still hasn’t got her appointment, and we simply haven’t got more time just to sit there on hold, in the hope that someone from Manor House Surgery/Humber Primary Care might actually answer the phone and provide an appointment booking service. Hopefully somebody in authority will do something to investigate what is happening at this practice, and quickly set things in place to improve it. Keeping people on hold on a phone for 2 hours - then cutting them off? I don’t think that should be acceptable.

Review titled Poor service
Rated 1 star out of 5

While I was dealt with today the receptionist stopped and got a biscuit and had a chat with a colleague and then she rudely said I can only deal with one thing at a time and then stopped again to order her tea and have a chat to some different colleagues- I have a hidden disability that means I cannot stand for long period of time. Considering it doctor’s surgery you would think they would take account of how they keep ill people waiting

Just tried to ring to get some antibiotics but I was cut off, Rang 111 the lady was very nice but i had to go through all the speel. This was then referred back to GP. Would like to know why I was cut off from GP surgery in the first place. Doesn't appear to have changed for the better

Review titled Cut your phone fall off
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 March 2023
Cut my phone call off because there were ten in the queue. Visited the surgery, told me to go to the hospital emergency doctors because they couldn't see me. Been with the practice before it became Humber primary care since I was born and my parents and grandparents before me. What an absolute shambles. They've lost the family surgery / doctor that we were all used to. I have immunity issues so needed to see someone, but no they weren't interested. That was in Bridlington. Shameful.
