Review titled Has the positive new system been short lived?
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 June 2024
Great first experience of new booking system and as I work 8 till 5 it was so much more convenient and less stressful but today gone I’ve logged on at break at 1015 book appointment and it says ‘due to the time of day your practice will not be able to process requests until the next working day’. I’m worried that appointments are simply being taken up now on the form instead of by phone leaving people like me having to take time off at 8am to even do the form. Can’t get through on phone as can’t wait😞😡

Review titled New online system
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Vanessa - Posted on 08 May 2024
The new online system to request appointment, is very frustrating. I completed the form at 8am for an appointment. I phoned the practice 3 times, the receptionist were lovely but due to the new system to online form goes to a hub who then review and GP screens. However this form was submitted first thing 8am and at 2pm they still have not looked at it. It is frustrating and worry I am still waiting for an appointment for my poorly daughter.

Review titled New Appointment System
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 28 May 2024
Today was the first time I have used the new appointment system of filling in the form. At first I thought it was very strange of not getting to speak to someone to explain the problem but I went on the website and filled the online form in with all the details for my child and her problem. It didn’t take very long at all for the surgery to contact me back and ask for me to bring her in for an appointment later in the day. The surgery itself was busy but we wasn’t in the waiting room long either. There was a slight problem with the GP not been able to send prescriptions electronically but one of the receptionists from the back office was very helpful too and got it sorted for us. Overall quite impressed with the new way of working for the surgery. Will be happy to use this service again.

Review titled Finally wonderful treatment
by Katie - Posted on 10 May 2024
I saw a lovely trainee GP, she was a breath of fresh air, she is absolutely what a doctor should be, she is in the right line of work unlike so many of her counterparts. She was so thorough and for once explained properly absolutely everything and took her time and treated me like a real person; no talking over me, gaslighting, no ego, no dismissive language, no downplaying my pain or issue, she was even honest when I requested something and said that we couldn’t do that at this stage, like real honesty!!!! I felt actually listened to and believed. I’ve had an awful time over the years, struggling for the first time in 30 years to receive proper health care after moving to the uk. What a difference. Any practice she ends ups staying with will be adding an invaluable treasure to their surgery. I pray that the awful patients that she will no doubt come across daily in her field don’t change or wear her down and affect the way she treats her patients, because she is excellent. She made a huge difference and it gave me a step in trusting to seek help when I need it again. For the first time I didn’t leave crying or angry and frustrated which is huge. Thank you for the effect your kindness and humanity that you displayed doctor.

Review titled Poor service

Queued from 7.00am for the reception shutters to open at 8.00am . Second in the queue to be told no GP appointments. Following a conversation the receptionist reluctantly gave me an appointment with the nurse practitioner. I work for the NHS and I am required to wear my ID badge , do the reception staff wear name badges? I asked if I could speak to the team leader/ manager or practice manager . The reply from the receptionist was the surgery doesn't have one! Really! . Don't mean to be unkind but maybe some reception staff training could be undertaken with a view to improve attitudes

Review titled Terrible appointment System
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 September 2023
Once again I’m totally frustrated and very upset after trying for 4 working days to get an appointment . As others do, I’ve constantly redialled the practice since 8 am, get through at 8.30 am only to be told yet again , no appointments and call back in morning or physically queue / get someone else to queue for me at 8 am . This is not possible as 1- I’m not well enough to queue and 2- My relatives and friends are at work! I had major surgery 7 weeks ago and should be able to be seen for my concerns . This is what the hospital told me on discharge .I’m unable to go to Story Street as I can’t sit or stand for very long and this shouldn’t be the standard option . I know the reception staff are under pressure, but some compassion wouldn’t go amiss and there needs to be a better system in place . It’s absolutely appalling and causes unnecessary distress . I also anticipate the standard response to this will be to please call the reception team to discuss . Ha!! We can never get through!

Review titled Not on the system
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 21 February 2023
I called today as I have been told I have cervical cancer and I am struggling with symptoms. I have been told I have been taken off the system and I have to ring someone else. I do this and I get the same receptionist. Now I have to wait and call them again. I need an appointment today I have been struggling for so long now and I don’t think it is fair I have to find out why I’m not on the system considering what I am and have gone through. I need a gp in general. Now when I sort this I will have to ring for an appointment and I can guarantee they will be none for me. I only want advice over the phone and a sick note for work as I have self certified for a week already and I am no better in pain or mental health wise

Review titled awful practice

I have been ringing since 8 am this morning and still can't get throw and it is now 8.32 300 time I have rang. this is disgusting. you're supposed to be the GP surgery. I know at times that the line will be busy but not for 30 mins!!. this is awful wouldn't recommend this surgery to anyone. I have read the comments and it is alright saying that contact the GP surgery because you would like to discus this but that not the problem they wouldn't do anything more then likely be waiting in a queue for an hour. I am still on the phone now and they have just answered saying I ma 16 in the queue at this rate won't even get an appointment no wonder the NHS is over run if you can't get into your doctors as they don't pick up the phone.
