Review titled Waste of time
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Robert Calderhead - Posted on 05 April 2024
After 32 attempts to get an appointment only to be told they are all booked up and this is at 8.10 am it’s a joke and even worse if you do get an appointment it’s not even a real doctor 🤬the other day I called in to book a blood pressure test and was told that they can not do that and I would have to do it by phone

Dear valued patient, Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We're truly sorry to hear about the challenges you've faced in trying to schedule appointments and the frustrations you've experienced. Firstly, I want to acknowledge the difficulties you've encountered with booking appointments. We understand the importance of timely access to healthcare services, and it's disheartening to hear that despite multiple attempts, you've been unable to secure an appointment. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. Upon reviewing your appointment history, I see that you've had four appointments booked so far in 2024, with the most recent one scheduled in the late afternoon (3.50pm) for the same evening (5.30pm). We aim to provide flexibility in appointment scheduling to accommodate our patients' diverse schedules and urgent needs. Regarding your concern about not seeing a "real doctor," I want to assure you that all healthcare professionals at our practice are qualified and capable of providing appropriate care. I understand your frustration with being unable to book a blood pressure test over the desk. Our staff on the reception desk are dedicated to assisting patients with administrative tasks, but they do not have access to appointment booking systems. However, appointments can be booked via telephone or online for nurse appointments through our website. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve our appointment scheduling processes and communication channels. If there's anything else we can do to assist you or if you have further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. .

I got an appointment for an allergic reaction on the day I rang up - I may admit I was surprised. I was seen within a 5 minutes of arriving. Overall it was a good experience.

Review titled Rushed practice

Had to wait a long time as appointments were running late. When I saw GP, he appeared rushed and didn't seem to have time to give a proper prognosis of my condition. I left wondering how long I would need medication and if the condition would actually heal. Also Physio was mentioned but no follow-up on that at all. Did not feel proper attention was given.

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent visit, although I regret that I am unable to investigate your concerns further due to the anonymous nature of your review. I want to acknowledge your frustration regarding the extended wait time and the perceived rushed nature of your consultation with our GP. While delays in clinics can indeed occur due to emergencies with other patients, it's important to us that every patient receives the attention and care they deserve during their appointment. Regarding your condition and the prognosis provided, I apologise if you felt uncertain about your treatment plan or the duration of medication required. Our aim is always to ensure clear communication and understanding between patients and healthcare providers. If you have any lingering questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly so we can address them promptly. Additionally, I understand that physiotherapy was mentioned during your consultation but felt there was no follow-up on that matter. If our GP recommended physiotherapy, it could involve either a referral to hospital-based physiotherapy services or scheduling an appointment with the physiotherapist based in our surgery. To check this, please feel free to contact our surgery, and we will assist you in finding out if it is the hospital that should be contacting you or if you require an appointment with the physio in surgery. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we continuously strive to improve our services and ensure that every patient receives the highest quality of care. I apologise once again for any shortcomings you experienced during your visit and encourage you to reach out to us directly if you require further assistance or clarification. Sincerely, Carolyn Deputy Practice Manager

I saw my GP in January and she was so thorough and kind. She was a good listener and respectful. Over a number of weeks she was very patient and helped me get the right product to ensure I carry on with my daily life and be comfortable

Dear Joanna Pastewska, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I am deeply sorry to hear about the distressing situation you are going through. It's important to clarify that midwives who utilise our facilities are not employed by our surgery but rather use our rooms to see patients. However, your feedback is invaluable, and we take your concerns seriously. If you have any complaints or issues regarding the care provided by midwives, I would encourage you to contact the appropriate authority, which in this case would be https://www.uhdb.nhs.uk/complaints. Dear K.randle, Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We understand the importance of continuity of care, especially when dealing with ongoing health issues such as your extremely painful joints. We do make every effort to accommodate requests for appointments with the same GP, particularly when it's necessary for ongoing problems. However, it's important to note that not all GPs work every day, and they may also work from different sites, which can sometimes limit our ability to schedule appointments with a specific doctor. Regarding your ongoing pain, we appreciate your patience and persistence in seeking a resolution. I can see from your records that you have, in the past seen podiatry and physiotherapy, which unfortunately did not provide the relief you were seeking. We have referred for X-rays and blood tests to further investigate the underlying cause of your pain. We're encouraged to hear that you've recently re-started physiotherapy as an alternative to relying solely on painkillers. It's essential to explore various treatment options to address the root cause of your discomfort effectively. Please rest assured that we are committed to assisting you in finding the answers and solutions you need to manage your pain and improve your quality of life. Carolyn Deputy Practice Manager

Review titled Terrible surgery

No consideration to my feelings. Just gave me my results to read myself off the screen. Found something with my results “interesting” which was highly insensitive. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to join this practise.
