Review titled No appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5

Tried to get an appointment but told as not urgent will be August. How do they know it’s not serious when they don’t even see you and you can’t speak to a Dr?. Some issues are not urgent but still need to be checked. I have to work so can’t really take a day out to sit in a walk in centre. We desperately need more GPs in Maghull and Lydiate.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you have had a negative experience with High Pastures Surgery. I am sorry you have had a problem making an appointment today. We have 2 weeks left in July and unfortunately, all the routine appointments are booked up. If you felt your problem could not wait until the next available routine appointment, you do have the option to ask for a same day appointment template to be completed. This is then passed to our GP on duty who will triage it and you would be seen in the surgery today face to face or be booked in for a telephone consultation. There is also the option of completing an on-line eConsult, but these are switched off each day when we reach clinical capacity. Alternatively to seeing a GP we do have appointments available to see our other clinicians such as one of our Physician Associates, Practice Nurse or Pharmacist depending on what your health needs are. We have hundreds of appointments available every week, but they do get booked up. If you health concern is something you feel needs dealing with today, please call us back. If you remain unhappy, please contact the Reception Manager. Sue Jago, Practice Manager

Review titled It’s like playing musical chairs on the Titanic

Can’t access e-consult; can’t get through on the phone unless you’re happy to hold on till you get from position 6 in the queue; personal visit to Reception requesting call from a medical person who chose to text instead leaving me with questions, which means another trip to reception to request appointment. This practice is self destructing.

Review titled 14 mins after e construction opens it closes

Logged on for econsult this morning because face to face appointments are not accepted. It opens at 8am. While completing the form e consult closed at 8.14am I find it almost impossible to get an appointment here and have used a private service provided through work for the past 2 years.

I have never had a problem with high pastures and have always received treatment when needed. I have a uti and I had a prescription at the chemist within 2 hrs after phoning the surgery. Excellent service and lovely staff.

Review titled Unacceptably Severely Restricted Access to Healthcare
Rated 1 star out of 5

I've been a patient here all my life and am staggered at the collapse in its services. What has happened? No appointments until an eConsult form completed but the eConsult option is turned off when they reach a certain number . After opening the system at 8am I tried at 9am and they were already accepting no futher forms. I had already tried last week unsuccessfully. The suggestion , try again tomorrow or ring 111. For what? For some person to read off a script like you are buying car insurance. When you are in pain or want to discuss private matters face to face with a doctor, effectively every barrier is being put in your way to prevent this happening. It fills me with despair. What about people unable to use tech? If this is the future of the uk gp service then is tragic and will result in so many people just not seeking medical help in time. Why has this happened? What can a patient do to get timely healthcare. It makes me terrified now to grow old.
