Review titled Not great for contraceptive pill advice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 July 2024
I attended an appointment to chat about multiphasic contraceptive pill (a combined pill that mimics the natural cycle which I am used to after 7 years of having natural periods) and I didn’t want a monophasic pill because I enjoy the fluctuations in my hormones each cycle but didn’t want the ovarian and endometrial cancer risk associated with a high number of natural periods. The nurse I spoke to told me they are only taught about combined and progesterone only pill and proceeded to google multiphasic in front of me before prescribing me a monophasic pill which I had already been on in the past and stopped taking due to side effects which I did mention but she said to try it again first and see how I go because this is the “go to” combined pill to prescribe. I felt very deflated that I didn’t get to talk about the kind of pill I felt would be right for me. I then researched online and came across The Lowdown a great informative online platform to compare, review and order contraception, I then had to pay £54 for my pill of choice which should be free on NHS in England but at least I got the information and reassurance from a professional that I was looking for through The Lowdown. Its always worrying when you come away feeling frustrated that the nurse didn’t know what you were talking about and rather than refer me to someone who did know about these kinds of pills prescribe me something I didn’t want, have tried before and stopped taking due to issues it caused me. I highly recommend The Lowdown for contraception advice and they have now partnered with chemist4U so you can get contraceptive pill on NHS if you are eligible.

Review titled Very difficult to make an appointment
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 12 June 2024
It is almost impossible to make a non urgent appointment on the telephone. Advised to use the online service which may then send you an appointment within 5 days. The appointment text or email might arrive the same day as the allotted appointment which is difficult for people who are employed to attend at short notice. This seems to happen more if you use the online system on Fridays. The system of asking people to phone the surgery at 0800 is not viable if you work as there are often 30 plus other callers in the queue. It is great that there are some evening appointments available at some of the practices but it appears too difficult to speak to a human and make an appointment without numerous texts/phone calls and time wasting. I don’t think this system works and think it should be changed, not everybody in Norfolk is retired or not working. Could there be more call handlers to take appointment requests and have access to available appointments rather than frustrating patients.

Review titled Great Dr Miss/Mrs D
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lilly - Posted on 09 May 2024
We went to see her as the baby developed a rash and she prescribed 2 creams but they did not work. 2 weeks later we saw the same lady Dr and she offered to px two new things to combat the rash that had gotten worse. How lovely to see Dr's who want to do all they can to help! They even left me a separate message about the 2nd cream. She is such an asset to the surgery.

Review titled Don't answer phones
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 29 November 2022
Tried numerous times to get through on the phone. Ended up driving there , when waiting over 30 mins to obtain a prescription all you could hear was the phone ringing and no one answering it . I thought there was only one person on reception and that was the reason why . Then someone finally answered it in the back room I then realized there was two people in there as well .They answered two calls in half an hour ! Worse thing was i think they are oblivious to the fact that everyone in the queue can see what's going on .Needs a big shake up you wouldn't get away with this in any other job .
