  1. Review titled Couch to 5k with b2r

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by KCo - Posted on 10 September 2024

I took part in the 10 week programme and progressed from a non runner to completing 5k. Being part of an inclusive, supportive group was key to achieving the goal. I was welcomed by the organisers and quickly made new friends with a shared aim. This is not merely a running club it’s about learning to make small lifestyle changes that have a long term positive impact on physical and mental health. The group included individuals from a wide age and fitness range. If you receive an email or text invitation I’d say “go for it” or contact the surgery direct for details of the next programme. It could change your life. Good luck

  2. Review titled B2R

Rated 4 stars out of 5

The surgery provided this free fitness course and I will be forever grateful. I have various health issues from Fibromyalgia, a total knee replacement and half a lung missing after recovering from lung cancer ten years ago (a non smoker)and have suffered with depression for years. My weight has always been an issue and I worried that trying a health group that included running would make some or all of my issues worse. But I’d tried everything else and was determined to give this a go for the full ten weeks. The best decision I have ever made. From never having run at all in my adult life, we quickly built up running a minute at a time incorporating fun exercises with the coaching team supporting and encouraging all the way. I have made lasting friendships and my moods have definitely improved and a recent bout of depression lifted after a short run. We have all agreed to continue meeting and supporting each other. Long may I be able to continue running and improving my fitness and long may this group continue to help others.

  3. Review titled B2r Wellbeing Invitation

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mark - Posted on 10 September 2024

**Transform Your Health in Just 10 Weeks!** Ten weeks ago, I received an email from the surgery offering a 10-week program. For years, I knew I needed to become more active, but little did I know this would be my chance to join a local group of like-minded people, all on a journey to better health. This wasn’t just a course—it was a life-changing opportunity. From day one, we were guided by incredible professionals who not only motivated us but also believed in us. Together, we started with just a minute or two of running, and now, every single one of us has completed a 5k at our own pace. This is not just a running club—it's so much more. The talks, open discussions, and support we received were genuinely liberating, opening our eyes to what's possible when you take that first step. I can confidently say this program has made a huge impact on everyone's mental and physical well-being. It was more than just running; it was about fun, connection, and finding a new path to a healthier and happier lifestyle. This is a fantastic example of the Nhs being forward-thinking, providing accessible and effective support for those, like me, who struggled to respond to traditional advice about weight loss and getting active. The B2r Team's passion is infectious, and their vision of a healthier, happier community should be a national program. Believe in yourself, trust the process, and see where 10 weeks can take you! Thank you to the GPs in taking on the initiative, the B2r team for completely delivering on their promise and the now friends for encouraging me and the group just when we needed each other.

  4. Review titled Great treatment of my little one with his vaccinations

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 July 2024

I’ve recently had my first child and have taken him to Headcorn surgery for his vaccinations. The lady who handled his 12 and 16 week vaccinations was really great with him and made the vaccination experience a lot better than I was expecting. Also, whenever I have contacted the surgery with health related issues for him they have got back to me very quickly

  5. Review titled Shocking treatment by receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 June 2024

While waiting for my appointment an elderly lady obviously at her wits end approached reception as a last resort to make a G P appointment. Was told no appointments could be made by reception. Only way to make an appointment was either email or the nhs app. Which clearly the woman was not able to do. No further assistance was offered by reception. I m still in shock about this outrageous behaviour. After all your website states that elderly people would be helped by reception. I m scarred by this treatment.

  6. Review titled Very good service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Virginia Stevens - Posted on 16 April 2024

I filled in online survey at 7am on a Monday. Didn't hold out much hope of getting an appointment on a Monday, but later that morning I received a phone call to say a Doctor would like to see me that afternoon. The doctor was lovely and caring. And gave me future advice. And I left with a prescription for medication which will hopefully sort problem out. I understand not everyone has access or can use the online form but I have found it excellent to use and I am old! I don't go to docs very often but when I have needed them this surgery has come up trumps.(better than my last one!) Thank you.

  8. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 January 2024

I called the surgery for an appointment at 8 o’clock on the dot and after asking for an appointment was told to book an appointment on the website, I still don’t know why. So I did book an appointment on the website, well book is probably the wrong word, I applied for an appointment on the website and was refused. A couple of hours later I got a text telling me to go to a&e, which is where I currently am, 3 hours and counting and still no sign of a doctor. Total triage or whatever they are branding their lazy doctoring is insane, I cannot believe they are getting away with it.

  9. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 January 2024

Today I attended the practice for the removal of a sebaceous cyst. The small op was completed efficiently, swiftly and painlessly. Everything was explained to me clearly, and the staff concerned were highly professional and adept at putting the patient at ease. I received an excellent service for which I am most grateful.

  10. Review titled Excellent Speedy & Professional Treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Alan Osborne - Posted on 17 November 2023

I had a health issue that had not cleared after 2 weeks of over the counter medicines. Contacted Dr reception on Tuesday morning to ask the best way to discuss condition with a Dr - advised to visit website click on banner and submit online request describing condition. Had a telephone call from reception that day offering me Dr appointment at 4.20 that day - following which I was referred for scan to Maidstone advised it would be within max 2 weeks. Contacted by Maidstone Hospital the next day Wednesday offered cancellation for Thursday - after Scan contacted by surgery on Friday who had received report back diagnosed the problem and prescribed medication which is now waiting for me at the pharmacy with a follow up in 2 weeks. How can you complain at this level of service - seen referred diagnosed and prescribed in 4 days. Kept updated spoken to 2 Drs at the surgery, examined by 1 Dr and seen by 2 Drs at Maidstone Hospital. I highlight this because we seem happy to spend time highlighting the bad side but never to spend the same time highlighting really excellent service we receive from a Health Service that is under enormous pressure doing their absolute best to try and treat everybody

Dear Mr Osborne I would like to thank you for taking the time to post positive feedback on NHS Choices, it is very much appreciated and I will share this with our hardworking team. You are quite right that the NHS is under enormous pressure and , despite what some may think, the team at Headcorn Surgery always work very hard to provide an excellent service to our 9,029 patients, often in difficult circumstances. Once again, many thanks for your comments Anne Bristow managing partner
