Review titled Terrible lack of care and service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 August 2024
So disappointing, we have had to come here due to the catchment area; they make everything such hard work and behave as if they are doing you a massive favor even answering the phone after you have waited half an hour!! The last practice repeat prescriptions were 3 monthly and just flew through - easy life. Here it is a nightmare, not user-friendly not helpful, and no access to doctors whereas in my last practice, you could see or speak to a doctor. To get repeats they will only do monthly not 3 monthly presumably they get more money, Every month you have to go in and even though I am a mile away they say not as the crow flies so you have to pick it up then take to a pharmacy, the last place helpfully produced the repeat meds, which when you work full time should be the case and I put the repeat form in. At Hazeldene, they have invented a questionnaire every month and advise you to see the doc every month presumably more money? They make everything so stressful and time-consuming when you work full time you don't need people making life difficult, I cannot wait to find a new place. I am now trying to see if my old surgery will accept people out of the area and/ or try and find anywhere else.

Review titled Pitiful Booking System / Procedure
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Steven Freeman - Posted on 09 May 2024
I have been to the doctor and there are concerns relating to hear disease and blood pressure. Blood is taken and I am sent for an Electrocardiogram. Then I receive a text stating that I need to make an appointment to see the doctor to discuss blood pressure results. I call the surgery at 12.25 and am told I am 1st in the queue. I sit and wait for 30 minutes and nobody takes my call. I call back again at 14.00 and wait for 20 minutes and eventually someone picks up. I tell them I am calling to make an appointment as instructed by the text message I received. I am told that I need to call again at 8.00 the next morning to book an appointment two weeks in advance. What a ridiculous policy after already waiting for 50 minutes to get through. Strangely enough (considering one has to book two weeks in advance). A week ago they cancelled by appointment and gave me three different time slots that they could change it to all within 24 hours of my initil appointment. However, in this instance they can't find a single slot for me within two weeks. Honestly, this surgery need to have a serious look at their procedures and policies. I don't know a single person who uses this surgery who aren't infuriated by this system. I can't fathom why "there are concerns over my blood pressure and coronary heart disease but they have no sense of urgency when booking an appointment for me" Aren't surgeries supposed to be adaptable, understanding, convenient to use and use initiative to prioritize? When I told the receptionist that I cannot cannot spend time at 8.00 hanging on for 45 minutes trying to make an appointment when I have meetings, she offered no alternative to me except to try and book online, which I told her I had tried but the site stated that there were no available appointments within 8 weeks. When I told her this, no further solutions. I told her never mind and she said "OK Bye" Honestly, it beggars belief. I could potentially die of a heart attack or something before they start to use common sense and prioritize appointments based upon risk. It's truly frustrating. Steve Freeman

Review titled Dreadful
Rated 1 star out of 5

I phoned hazeldene surgery out of desperation due to my B/P rising above 203/82. I was told to visit the surgery to pick a blood pressure record sheet and write my B/P readings morning and night and return the completed form in a week's time.I really couldn't believe what I was Hearing So in desperation I had to call 111 who dispatched an ambulance and I was checked over and the lovely ambulance staff insisted I go immediately the county hospital who gave me 2cardiograms and I was later discharged after my blood pressure had been reduced to a safe reading.I have found it virtually impossible to see a doctor in person.i have had to go private previously because I couldn't get to see a doctor

Review titled Very hardworking practice
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by michael - Posted on 25 April 2023
Recepionists - most helpful, often under most difficult circumstances. Health Care Proffs - always highley efficient and helpful. Nurses - always go out of the way to be kind, and most efficient. G.P.s, from my experience of 20 years, are most helpful and friendly under great pressure. "The backroom team whom we no not see, try to keep the whole system running smoothly. Not easy in the current circumstances!

Review titled Excellent practice which we value highly
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ingrid Lilley - Posted on 17 January 2023
We have been patients here for over 18 years, and are so grateful for all the continuing care and swift response to our health issues. This is a lovely surgery with a caring team who work tirelessly. Reception staff are all efficient in dealing with appointment requests, prescriptions etc; the pharmacy on site is excellent. All the doctors at the practice are dedicated to their profession, and do their utmost to diagnose and refer swiftly when needed. There have been some staff changes over the years with retirements etc, but the values of kindness and caring have never been compromised. Given the current difficulties that the NHS has with an ever growing population, and elderly demographic, Hazeldene House Surgery is meeting the needs of these groups very well- given our experiences and observations. We have a real sense of being valued, and most importantly being listened to. All the staff show empathy and compassion to us, and we feel 'safe' here using the service. The Patient Access account is really helpful to accessing notes and documents, and order repeat prescriptions too. Thank you to all the team at Hazeldene House Surgery
