    I have just had a joint appointment with a wonderful nurse and equally amazing GP...they jointly undertook a tricky procedure. Their care and concern for me, and team work to get a good outcome for me was exemplary. I can't thank them enough.

    Unlike my last visit, everything went smoothly and I received everything expected. The nurse will also speak with my doctor to get a blood test form added to my records so that my pre diabetes level can be checked.

    I arrived early for my vaccination, was greeted in a helpful and friendly fashion, and was seen within 10 minutes of arriving, by the very helpful nurse.

    I feel I receive patient centred diabetes care at Harcourt. I am encouraged to make healthy choices and don't feel judged. I had a little wait over the time of appointment but that meant someone else getting the extra care needed. During the appt, the Nurse was very thorough.

    My stumbling block is simply having a French phone number. I have previously called the surgery to ask to speak to my (elderly) mother's doctor. I was told that the doctor cannot call a French phone. Today I sent an email. The (automatic) reply told me that the surgery cannot accept requests by email and that I should fill in the online form, which asks for my UK phone number. I don't have one. It won't accept a French one. Maybe you see the problem?

    I recently had cause to contact the practice, due to persistent symptoms of Long Covid. My concerns were listened to and appropriate follow-up investigations put in place. The fact that my GP knew my medical history so well was very reassuring, as was the personal interest which was shown in dealing with my problems. I am very grateful for the help I received.

    I recently had to use the GP service for a significant but non urgent condition. From the outset, the receptionist, and then the GP were sympathetic, attentive and proactive in providing me the best care possible. When my condition worsened, they acted swiftly and decisively to continue my care. Whilst the booking system each morning for appointment is by telephone and first come first served, as soon as I was able to get through, they were on the case. Having recently retired from the Armed Forces after a lifetime, and the medical wrap that is provided in the service, you wonder how things will be when sometimes the NHS GP service gets openly criticised. I have seen nothing to support that negative view in my personal experience. I believe that is entirely down to the professionalism and excellent care provided at Harcourt medical Centre.

    Had a bit of a concern regarding a changing mole on my forehead, so called in to speak to a Doctor. I was sent a link within minutes from reception to post photos of the mole. I posted my photos and then received a prompt reply with an appointment made available during the same day. I attended the appointment and my concern was dealt with, by my Doctor, swiftly and with precise treatment to allay and remove my concerns. A very slick and professional experience and practice.

    My mother was lucky enough to be a patient at this surgery for 17 years. She was always treated with exceptional kindness and respect. She had a few medical conditions common to the elderly and was always listened to and given swift, appropriate diagnosis and treatment. In the last year of her life when, she knew she was battling terminal cancer, her GP was with her every step of the way, always gentle and kind. He made regular visits to her at home and made her feel important and well cared for. “Systemonline”used by the surgery made direct communication with her GP possible with responses to questions and updates happening quickly. The surgery liaised well with the excellent community nurse and palliative care teams enabling her last few days to be as calm, pain free and dignified as possible. They were wonderful. I should add that Salisbury District Hospital was also very good. Her clinical care over the years has always been excellent, If only a communication system that better connects these two excellent services could be established. Thank you to all the staff at Harcourt but especially mum’s GP for an amazing devotion to duty, especially in these very difficult times.
