  1. Review titled Get you off my plate

Rated 1 star out of 5

I am due to undergo a number of blood tests. No dates have been booked by the surgery, despite request from Hospital Consultants. I rang the surgery today at ca. 1650. The receptionist was very obviousy unintersted in booking a telephone call for me with a Doctor before 20th November 2024. Explaining this delay, she said 'one of the Doctors was on leave'. Leaving aside the errors she made concerning my medical records (e.g. claiming wrongly I was due to attend for a blood test tomorrow) and the importance of the issues I wanted to discuss with a Doctor (e.g. the cpntinuation of immunosupression medicines) I was left with the distinct impression the redceptionist 'didnt't like my direct attitude' and was keen to get me off the phone asap,

  2. Review titled Impressive doctor

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was given time to desribe several problems. Careful examination followed, with suggestions for further investigation. Prescribed useful medications. Contacted a week later by phone, to ask how I was getting on and whether I wanted a further referral. I have full confidence in her ability and would be glad to continue under her care. First rate service.

  3. Review titled Receptionists triaging patients

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 October 2024

To obtain an urgent, on-the-day phone call with a GP for the purpose of triage and deciding next steps, it is first necessary to have a conversation with a receptionist who controls access. There has to be some sifting process of course, but is it safe for non-medically trained staff to fulfil this role? I was given incorrect advice by an over-confident receptionist, fortunately I knew it was wrong, but should they be giving healthcare advice? I don’t know the answers, but I suggest the practice looks again at these boundaries. GPS are good at this practice though.

  4. Review titled Highly recommended

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by MARTIN P - Posted on 15 August 2024

Having been registered with Hampton Wick Surgery for many decades I can strongly recommend the practice. I recently required a face to face appointment and it was arranged within a few days. The doctor was a new face to me but was very caring and took time to understand the issues and deal with them efficiently.

  5. Review titled Haven’t seen the same GP twice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 September 2024

I lost 7 years before properly being diagnosed for a lifelong autoimmune condition. This is not the complaint though. Finally when I was diagnosed I found out that I will need medication every day for the rest of my life luckily it’s not an expensive one. I need follow up tests to adjust the dosage because it’s almost impossible to judge. That’s all well and good. However Every time this needs doing I am only able to speak to a different Gp. Not ideal but we put our trust in their systems right?. Recently my dose was increased and I was prescribed the amount of medication only to “top up” the existing dose I had. So it’s only the additional amount I should take as well as the batch I was given earlier. When I asked for renewal having 2-3 weeks worth left. I was refused on the basis that I had enough. Already. I tried emailing and explaining to them that the latest prescription was only a top up dose therefore I’d need a refill sooner than they think. I received stern refusal to 2 of my emails -trying to explain this to the- they tell me the practice email is used only for ‘clinical’ reasons. Whatever that means. Followed by a recommendation to book an appointment with a Gp. I find this a bit odd that I have to book an appointment with a GP to explain this all back to them, especially when we can only get phone appointments for actual ailments. Clearly their system -or staff- are not competent enough to be able to understand the patients full story. If you are on the same dose and ask for repeat prescriptions on regular basis you are fine. Otherwise Book and appointment with a Gp, which will be in 2-3 weeks time btw. Meanwhile run out of medication you are trying to adjust the dose of. Oh a little detail: it must be taken regularly every day so that the effect can be measured. Did you run out because of all this we have to go back to beginning and lose another 2-3 months sorry! Then we scratch our heads questioning where the efficiency is. Or lack there of. Your health you ask oh well it was not the priority to begin with..

  6. Review titled Medication request declined

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Simon Willington - Posted on 17 July 2024

I was discharged from Hammersmith hospital after heart surgery with 28 days of medication. When I made a request for extra medication on 13th July my request was declined. I'm not without diabetic and essential heart medication. Very poor and potential life threatening action

  7. Review titled Efficient and friendly service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 September 2023

I have had to visit the surgery twice recently - one non urgent and once more urgently (I rarely go there as I am fortunately fit and well). On both occasions I was able to see a doctor (face to face) or speak to the nurse and received treatment on the same day. I have always found the staff there to be very helpful and would definitely recommend this practice to anyone.

  8. Review titled Standard declining

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Receptionists really let the practice down with their attitude to polite patients. Defensive, interrupting and impatient. The admin is pretty poor all round -perhaps the root cause of the last CQC rating of needing improvement on 4 of the 5 standards. Doctors ok when you get to see or speak to them. But they seem defeated and short of time. Nurses are polite and kind.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I would like to commend great service I have received today. Receptionist was so kind and booked my appointment straight away. The doctor called me back within an hour and was very caring and understanding and dealt with my illness with compassion. I have received great treatment. The surgery has improved so much in the last year and it’s a great practice to be wiht .

  10. Review titled Majority of the GPs wonderful, but one exception.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Katy Charlotte Grubb - Posted on 14 February 2023

While every other member of the team of GPs is fantastic - compassionate and efficient - there is one GP who is very cold, uncaring, and bordering on rude. And, unfortunately this was the GP who called me back today. I have never had a positive experience with this particular GP - GP didn't ask how I was feeling, or express even the most generic of pleasantries like "Hi, how are you?". They had all the warmth of a self-service checkout, and stick out like a sore thumb amongst all the other GPs at this otherwise wonderful practice.
