Review titled Do Doctors see Patients
by Peter zielinski - Posted on 08 July 2024
2 weeks ago I was admitted to A & E after vomiting blood. A&E discharged me a told me to see my GP in 2 weeks. Well, I've tried. At the moment my case is with the prescription team as A&E asked for a blood test. I thought that I'd be seen by a GP to ask whether or not I'd had any more nausea or vomiting of blood. Apparently that's not the way things are done now. I'm terminally ill, in the past my GP would ask me to make an appointment just to see how I'm getting on. Nowadays, being terminal is not enough of a reason to get to see the Doctor. I've been sitting by the phone all day. Called at 13.30 as I'd had no call. Was told to call back at 17.00 Now being told they will call tomorrow.. Just hope this Prescription team is going to ask if I'd had any more symptoms over the last 2 weeks. Will I need a camera down my throat? Do I still carry on with the dosage of my meds that A&E advised? Questions that I thought only a GP could ask. Well, looks like I'm wrong. All I want is to be able to talk to a Doctor. I'm dying, & Yes I'm scared. Vomiting blood is not nice. Do I feel reassured being dealt with by a Prescription team? No. Can I get to see a Doctor? Looks like it's a no. Comforted? No. Just wondering if there are other patients at this practice in the same situation?

Review titled Terrible practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Agnes Clark - Posted on 17 April 2024
I called the surgery today to get an update for my sons repeat medication and this happens with every prescription. My son is always running out of his medication and this is not at all beneficial to him as these are very important for his health and because he needs a blood test for one medication they don’t send out the rest of his prescriptions. I certainly do not recommend this practice to anyone. The receptionist today was very rude and hung up the telephone, she won’t let you speak .

Review titled Unbelievable resistance
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Peter Zielinski - Posted on 16 May 2023
I'm terminally ill, receiving treatment from Papworth, Previously was treated by West Suffolk as well. Medication provided by West Suffolk had stabilized my condition & it was mutually agreed that I could stop seeing them until it became necessary to return. That was Nov 2021. My situation has deteriorated & need to return to West Suffolk. However Grove Surgery are refusing to refer me, because they say it's not correct procedure. West Suffolk need a referral from them and without it I cannot get any help. Have had to go through NHS complaints procedure just to get a referral. Patient care at this practise has gone downhill. They seem to have forgotten why they're in the job.

Review titled Unable to get an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 March 2023
The appointment system does not work. I work Monday - Friday between 8:30- 5. I can have time off easily for a pre-booked doctors appointment l, I just need to know when this will be. I work with people running appointments so can not just stop everything to take a phone call without notice. When trying to book an appointment I was told I couldn’t and needed to call in the morning to request an appointment for the day. Then I would be called at a random time throughout the day. And that’s my appointment. This is no good for me and the system makes it impossible for me to see anyone and access the care and advice I need. What do I do and where do I go?

Review titled Staffing issues
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Shirley Vasey - Posted on 18 February 2023
I was spoken to yesterday by a lovely receptionist to inform me that I have type 2 diabetes following recent blood tests. The nearest appointment which is only by telephone is three weeks away with a nurse. I suffer with anxiety and am very concerned I should be making changes to my eating habits and lifestyle and the Internet full of contradictions. I feel very let down and not the first time in the last 3 years. Waiting room always empty so if the nurses are busy, surely a doctor could step in if an illness has been diagnosed.
