    Telephoned to sat my father in law had passed away..there was no concern or sorry in the voice of the person on the phone. Total lack.of disrespect..

    Dear Ms Withers Thank you for your invaluable feedback. Firstly, may I offer my condolences on the loss of your father in law. I have investigated your comments and identified the staff member as our new trainee receptionist who was on the appointment booking phone line at the time. I have discussed your review with her and she is deeply saddened that she came across as disrespectful in any way during such a difficult call. She has expressed her sincere apologies and remembers the call as it was the first call of this nature that she handled alone. She also remembers phone interference during the call which made it hard for her to hear all the details of the call. She has reflected on how she could have waited until an experienced staff member was available but believes she panicked in this instance and is very sorry if that presented as a lack of concern on her behalf. Please be assured her training is continuing with supervised calls and she remains on the appointment booking line. On behalf of the practice, please accept our apologies for your experience and condolences again. If you wish to discuss anything further, please do not hesitate to contact me.     Recently visited the surgery as was in pain and discomfort the person I saw decided to concentrate on something I hadn't come to them for. So am still in discomfort with no relevant explanation

    Yesterday evening I got a call saying the urine sample I gave came back with a abnormal result and I had to visit the nurse and she gave me a appointment for today at 2.40 pm , I spent all night worrying that by diabetes was getting worse and this could be problems with my kidneys, my wife was also worried so last night was not good, I went into see the nurse and she said I don’t know why I’ve been asked to speak with you there is nothing abnormal and this result was better than some you have had in the past and she had nothing to tell me I was not pleased and let her know that and to let whoever arranged the appointment that they caused my wife and me a lot of worry for nothing

    Dear Robert I apologise for any unnecessary worry you have experienced. I have attempted to investigate using your name but cannot see any appointments at this surgery for around that time of 2:40pm with a Nurse on either 9th or 10th May 2024. Could the date be different? Is this the correct Greengate Medical Centre (as there are 2 in England)? I would be grateful for the opportunity to investigate further, but without more accurate information, it will be impossible.     Knowing how many people are dissatisfied with their GP surgery makes me feel very fortunate to be registered at Greengate Medical Centre. During the almost 30 years of being registered here, I've always been pleased with the service. Before my named GP retired, I almost always managed to get an appointment with him. This consistency of care was great and I recognise many other surgeries don't offer this. I was a bit worried about my GP retiring, as I felt so comfortable with him, but my new GP is lovely. He explains things very clearly. He is caring - I told him about some bad news I'd received and he straight away asked me how I was feeling. He allowed me to ask all of my questions and didn't rush me at all. The receptionists have always been nice. I've always been able to get an appointment when I needed one. Sometimes I have to wait a couple of weeks, but that's absolutely fine by me for a non-urgent issue. Some surgeries don't offer pre-bookable appointments, online appointment booking, or afternoon appointment booking. I am so pleased mine does! Yes - the phone is always engaged at 8am and it takes a long time to get through to the receptionist. But the important thing is getting an appointment, which I have always managed to do. Thank you and keep up the good work!

    The earliest appointment I could get was in a month's time, when asked why, they replied with "were short a nurse". I think they're more than a nurse short

    Dear Shane Thank you for providing this feedback. From time to time, we do experience some staffing issues due to varying reasons, such as illness. We attempt, where possible, to ensure all patients are offered an appointment within 2 weeks, however, for some planned Nursing clinics, such as chronic disease reviews, or routine checks, there may be a longer wait due to demand on time-critical appointments, such as cancer injections or wound dressings which have to take priority. Appointments are generally triaged by the Reception team and dates offered dependant on urgency. I apologise that we were not able to offer you something sooner on this occasion. Unfortunately, during March we were recruiting for a new Nurse, who has subsequently started during April. This will hopefully alleviate the requirement for longer waits for routine Nursing appointments. Regards Ms Sara Mitchell Assistant Practice Manager

    I was extremely pleased to receive an excellent service from my local Greengate Medical Centre. The receptionist served me with a smile and was very helpful, she is a credit to this surgery, Wow! Need more of her. The Doctor who saw me went out of his way to help me. He did not rush me and helped me. Both staff deserve a big well done and recognition for providing a fab service.Well done Greengate my local surgery in Birstall.

    I felt the Doctor took the time to thoroughly check my symptoms and explain the treatment he prescribed as well as possible follow up treatment. Using easy technology to check after a week if that further treatment is needed. I very much appreciate the Doctor’s calm and gentle manner; I felt ‘cared for’.
