Being able to log your details on an online questionnaire saves time and unnecessary appointments for both the patient and medial practicians. After logging my symptoms online I was contacted by the practice advising that a blood test would be required for my symptoms and a face to face appointment would be arranged after this date once the results come back. This saved time attending 2 appointments and getting answers quicker. I think all appointments should be made this way. Symptoms can be prioritised and patients will know that an appointment will be made once available instead of having to phone daily. Saves time for all involved.

The initial wait in the telephone queue was lengthy (45 mins) and although there were no appointments left, the urgency of my condition was recognised. A call to 111 and then a phone triage led to a face to face appointment the same afternoon. All staff I spoke to were very helpful and competent in assessing the need for an appointment.

I was referred to Patches but when accessing website for availability of appointments there is no indication of whether appointments are still available or have all gone. When I queried this in person with reception they explained that this was the case. Also not very user friendly compared to other surgery websites. Might be an idea to look at other gp surgery websites to get some ideas such as Airmid for Solihull health partnership

I was struggling to get an appointment and the receptionist suggested that I used Patchs. It took a few minutes to fill in the form but within a couple of hours I had received a phone call and an appointment for the same day. This worked for me but I’m sure for some of the elderly patients who struggle with the technology they would prefer to be able to get appointments more easily over the phone.

I underwent surgery at the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust 11 weeks ago and, unfortunately, I have not yet received a follow-up. I have been experiencing pain and discomfort, which is causing me a lot of concern as I do not feel these pains are normal. This has led me to visit the GP twice. However, I could not get a referral to return to the specialist. I believe a new imaging test is necessary, considering that the first one was unsatisfactory and the expected recovery time from surgery was between 6 and 8 weeks. The GP continues to perform basic tests and prescribe medication that is not improving my condition, and I feel that the GP is not taking my problem seriously.
