Review titled The absolute worst!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Christopher Miller - Posted on 13 May 2024
This practice is the worst I've ever experienced or heard of!! The receptionists are rude and often, when myself or my wife are giving the reason for why we are looking to book an appointment they attempt to diagnose whatever the issue is. I have only on one occasion called up and got an appointment first time of trying. Every other time it has been "Sorry were fully booked for today..." my wife is on constant medication for her mental health and they constantly leave her without follow-up appointments that meet the timeframe the Dr has said, due to the 'lack of appointments'. Every single time we try to make an appointment, we are on our phones ready waiting to press call at exactly the moment 07:59 turns to 08:00 yet, as previously mentioned only once have we got an appointment!!! We are in the process of changing GP surgery's to one further away so that we can get the proper treatment, when needed, not 2 or 3 weeks later when they can 'fit us in'. If I could score this below zero, I would!

Review titled Failure to receive an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Lisa porter - Posted on 18 April 2024
The telephone appointment system in the surgery is ridiculous. I have been on 2 weeks annual leave and tried everyday to get an appointment with my GP due to extreme anxiety and really struggling. You are told to start calling from 8am. Everytime the telephone connects it starts by telling you that there is a high volume of calls and then automatically you are number 30 in the queue (every day 30 people call the phone which is highly unlikely as the number never changes) You are kept on the phone from 8am until 8:45 occasionally until 9am to then be told all appointments have gone for the day. I called about my daughter last week and was told a doctor would call back, they did but 10 hours later and the appointment was for 4 days later? I appreciate that the nhs is under a lot of pressure but for someone who never calls a doctor unless it’s serious this is just inexcusable.

Review titled Terrible doctors
Rated 1 star out of 5

My 18 year old sister is depressed and had recently lost her dad which has made this worse to then be spoken down to by a doctor an told ‘are you wanting me to give you some magic pill that makes everything go away or are you expecting me to’ this is absolutely disgusting and not acceptable! But then changed his tone when she told him her dad had passed an give her an appointment, I understand they get this loads working as a doctor but seriously have some compassion

Review titled Doctors individually good, admin staff shocking!
by bung-eyed batz - Posted on 16 December 2022
These are the latest incidents covering past three weeks: Collected monthly prescription - wrong tablets. Went to surgery personally, offered a new prescription the following day, leaving me without medication for 24 hours. Next day (a Friday), I checked with the chemist, no script! Spent at least 45 mins trying to connect with surgery to be told doctor(s) had not yet signed. At 3/30-ish, I tried calling the surgery, I was no 3 in the queue, holding for 30 minutes, so walked 15/20 minutes to surgery, still connected - no 3 in the queue. Just as I was arriving, a receptionist answered (who had been extremely unhelpful this whole episode), and I informed them I was 2 minutes away. I arrived at the desk just as the receptionist walked back in, holding my prescription, newly signed. I explained how frustrated I felt, and they responded by going on the offensive and telling me not to raise my voice. I was left speechless, took my script and left. One week ago I took a bad fall flat on my face due to my neurological condition, and since this is a frequent occurrence, I limped home, nose bleeding, right eye swelling, in shock and waited to see if I had a black eye. I did later that evening, so I set my alarm for 7.58 a.m. in order to see a doctor by appointment, phoning the surgery on my landline and mobile. I waited for a call back, which came after 9 a.m. Explained to the triage nurse my situation, and after their reporting to the doctor, they reported back that the doctor had told me to go to A&E. I told the nurse that at my age, I could not physically cope and would take my chances. The nurse was concerned and tried to persuade me to go, but I was adamant I would not. Day by day the eye went darker and larger through a whole spectrum of colours, including a bright raspberry red! Finally, the bruising is fading but still very obvious. Yesterday, I attended at the surgery to enquire as to what drops I should get for my ear. Admin said I needed to speak with the doctor, so phone between 8 and 9 a.m. to see if I'm lucky with the appointment lottery. Each time I asked a question, the reply was the same - ring between 8 and 9 a.m. I'm desperate to find a new practice, but I must attend for a registration form. I'm stuck indoors in this weather, so when I can manage this, I will. I cannot believe what this country has become, and am glad I'm on my way out!
