Review titled Great response from a receptionist.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by ANNE BENNETT - Posted on 02 October 2024
Thursday 26th September 2024 I went for an assessment to have a cataract removed, while there I had my blood pressure checked and it was sky high, when leaving to go home I was told to go to my doctors and let them know about my blood pressure, at Fireclay St George the receptionist was very concerned and I had my blood pressure checked by a nurse, it was still very high. The receptionist got me an appointment to see a doctor and he put me on an extra blood pressure tablet and all is back to normal. The actions of the receptionist to help me was exceptional.

Review titled Receptionist hung up on me
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 September 2024
Got a text to make a booking for an asthma review. Receptionist repeatedly talked over me saying I didn't have a telephone review earlier ion the year (when I did) and then simply hung up on me. appreciate they are extremely busy, but I've now had to waste more or my time and theirs calling back and figuring out who I spoke to. I was more than polite so her aggressive behaviour on the phone was completely unwarranted.

Review titled Disappointing .
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Sue Frost - Posted on 08 May 2024
Appt cancelled today after taking more than a week trying to request a face to face appt with Dr. Tried to rebook , hoping appt would be soon as I described a possible melanoma , 36th in queue again , no appts available . As my appt was cancelled by Dr (due to illness) I had hoped a system would be in place negating any requirement to wait further , I have been penalised ( in terms of getting a face to face appt ) through no fault of my own . I consider a poss melanoma to be of considerable concern .

Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry you experienced difficulty rebooking your appointment today. We have had significant levels of sickness today, with 3 GPs off sick. Our normal provision for cover in this situation was not enough. We have spoken on the phone and you were happy with our resolution. Kind Regards M Hartman Practice Manager.

Review titled Wonderful staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anna - Posted on 08 April 2024
All of the staff at these surgeries at Lodgeside and St George have been fantastic - but I am writing today about the receptionist staff I spoke to who made a huge effort to get an appointment for me, thank you! I also found the new booking system really helpful - they call you back, and send you a text with a link to a live countdown of your place in the queue, takes all the stress out of it.

Review titled Poor

Cant get face to face appointments then if you do the surgery is empty so no idea why you can not get an appointment Told use patchs but everyday it gets shut down So instead of 8am phone drama you need to fight to get on patchs Phone appointments are their first port of call not face to face. Ring after 9am and stock reply “nothing is available” The whole place and the NHS is general is a joke and not fit for purpose

Review titled Electronic prescriptions too hit and miss
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 January 2024
So I want the choice to go back to paper scripts if I want to because a few times I've put in repeat prescriptions with my nominated pharmacy and they haven't been processed. With a paper script I can at least take it to another pharmacy if mine doesn't have it in stock. The trouble I've had getting a prescription for my epilepsy medication since before Christmas is ridiculous! So I've left a message on patches and if I don't get a response I'll be at Lodgeside quicker than you can say Jack

We are sorry to hear that you have experienced difficulty obtaining your epilepsy medications; we are aware from pharmacies that they are experiencing supply issues with various epilepsy medications. An EPS prescription can be taken to any pharmacy; you can go to any pharmacy with your NHS number and the pharmacy will be able to locate your prescription. When a pharmacy dispenses part of a prescription and a patient wishes to try alternative pharmacies for missing items, the practice has to raise another prescription; an EPS number for the item on the new prescription can be given to you which you can use at any pharmacy, a paper prescription would not solve this problem. Hopefully this matter has been resolved through your on-line request; please however come back to us if further assistance is required. Best wishes Kathryn Thompson (Practice Manager)

Review titled Consistently excellent year after year
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Simon O - Posted on 19 December 2023
Won’t write too much as my previous review was lost when the page had an error , so my rave review was lost In short - year on year, before and after covid, the availability of doctors , nurses , test results , referrals etc have always been top drawer. The service provided by lodgeside and St George has always been excellent . It annoys me how much bad peas doctors surgeries get, you guys are exceptional

Review titled Gone down hill since merger and covid
Rated 1 star out of 5

Used to be great and could get appointments. Now you cant since merger with st george and covid. Terrible waits on the phone. Joke to have a message on patient access app stating “due to covid we are limiting appointments…” Hullo-Covid as an excuse really? No online appointments to be booked you have to join the 8am call us circus. New Patch system replacing E consult said “taking no more referrals today” Alway have an excuse handy why they cant give you an appointment. Dont get ill after 8am as they wont have an appointment and wont have Econsultation working either but they will have a scripted excuse story to rad out to you Hiding behind phone triage and use EConsultant instead of seeing patients. Don't bother to come here find a better place to go Pathetic

Review titled Poor Poor Poor

Long wait time on the phone and when they do answer its of little use. Seem to employ numerous drs/nurses but always “no appointments available” If they were paid by the NHS per the patients they actually see as opposed to the patients registered with them then more appointments may suddenly be available Now during your endless wait they constantly tell you to use the online service. Long gone is the desire to provide any kind of service to the their customers - its just rubbish and broken.

We are sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience when contacting the surgery and acknowledge your frustration. The demand for appointments has increased significantly and we are conscious that, at peak times, there is pressure on our phone lines; we are constantly reviewing staffing and appointment availability and we are currently reviewing our entire access model. We have installed a callback facility on our phone lines which should help alleviate long waits. In terms of offering on-line consultations, we are required to offer this service by NHSE and for many of our patients they prefer to contact us via this channel; we absolutely intend to continue with telephone access for those patients who want to talk to one of our patient navigators. Best wishes Kathryn Thompson Practice Manager
