  1. Review titled Really good, better than most!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Helpful staff in patient services and dispensary, GPs have generally made me feel listened to and reassured. The waiting room is a bit of a sensory hell for me as an autistic person - loads of bright white lights, two screens next to one another with different things going across them, radio really loud - but that aside it's a great surgery.

As a cancer patient, I make every effort to lead as normal a life as possible. The support offered by my Dr and the marvellous nurse practitioner is so appreciated. today especially, when I was at a particularly low point. Chemotherapy is a long battle, thank you.

  4. Review titled Very disappointing

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Joan - Posted on 18 June 2024

Used the online service to say I had a swollen leg/ankle and included photo. Without any consultation/discussion , just photo evidence, I was told to go to urgent care centre in Corby. I called the latter and was told 45 people were waiting! I was very unhappy about the situation so spoke to the practice manager. She said that possible DVT cases (diagnosed from a photo) had to go to Corby and I would be seen as a priority. I drove there and after waiting over 2 hours in an airless corridor, I began to feel claustrophobic and panicky so left without being seen. I am 80 years old and have been a patient at Empingham for nearly 60 years, but am seriously considering moving elsewhere.

  5. Review titled Fantastic Practice and Staff All Around

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I’ve had a fantastic experience at empingham medical centre since joining in 2021. From the start, it was evident that the team is highly skilled and dedicated to patient care. The entire process, from scheduling to follow-ups, was efficient and smooth. The staff is exceptionally pleasant and approachable, making every visit comfortable. They listen attentively and provide thorough, thoughtful responses, ensuring that all questions and concerns are addressed. Their responsiveness is impressive. Whether via call or email, the team consistently replies in a timely manner, showing their commitment and professionalism. They also address medical issues promptly. Overall, a doctors that blend of expertise, empathy, and efficiency. I highly recommend their services to anyone seeking knowledgeable and caring professionals who handle concerns swiftly and effectively.

  7. Review titled Not Helpful

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Over the past few months on two occasions I have tried to get an appointment for my daughter who is under 2. No help, not even an option for a doctors phone call or later appointment. Feeling frustrated as a first time mum with no help when I’m worried about my child. Followed the instructions of calling 111, still no help. Now have an appointment 30 minutes drive away. Why should I have to travel so far for a small child when it should be seen as an emergency.

  8. Review titled Very helpful

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Tricia Hallam - Posted on 29 January 2024

After knee replacement surgery had an appt booked for removal of Staples. The day before I was not mobile enough to attend so called the surgery for help. They were really helpful and arranged for a District Nurse to call the following day. They also arranged for a set of staple removers for us as they hadn't been issued by the hospital on my release. All in all very helpful and took the stress out of the situation. The District Nurse was also very good indeed.

  9. Review titled Appointment booking inflexible

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 November 2023

I phoned requesting a follow-up appointment but was told these can only be booked at 2pm on a Tues. I explained that calling at this time is impossible as i work in a school, that not only denies the use of mobile phones, but also this time is during lesson time. The very earliest i could phone on that day would be 4pm by which time my guess is that there would be no appointments available (i actually called on a Weds at 10am and there were none available then). I do not want to use an emergency appointment slot but i fear this may be my only chance of speaking to a doctor? It is such a shame that the inflexibilty of one system may mean misuse of another.

  10. Review titled Doing great job under pressure

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by piquet - Posted on 03 December 2023

Called at 8 am, received call back within minutes of auto-reply. Explained problem to receptionist / person calling back. Possible damage to an existing artificial hip joint, as was painful. GP called back near lunchtime. Offered face to face either within 30 minutes (in her lunch hour?) or early next week. Went immediately to EmpMC. Was referred to x-ray at Stamford hospital same day. Results within 2 days, posted on the secure patient record system, GP called a few days later to offer further review if pain persisted (x-ray showed no bad results). Very efficient service and good communications.
