Review titled Used to be amazing
Rated 2 stars out of 5

But now, it’s almost impossible to get an appointment if you are at work and not allowed your phone. Even after hospital referrals. Phone at 8am, get the recorded message that they’re too busy to take your call. Ring back later, no appointments! Vicious cycle

We are sorry to read this. There is ever-increasing demands on services. We try to provide the most efficient service possible, so that patients can receive appropriate and timely care. We are constantly reviewing our processes and are aware of patient difficulties in accessing us sometimes. The Practice has recently purchased a new telephone system (expected installation June 24). This should improve patient access and provide more flexibility regarding how and when a patient can call the Surgery. We hope to see improved experiences of contacting us by telephone. More details will be published on our website/newsletter in due course. Thank you for your feed back.

Review titled No care

Appalling since merging with another surgery. This practice never recovered from covid and the receptionists seem to think they have more power than the GP's. They cancel repeat prescriptions without letting you know or offering a medication review. A recent visit where I was told to come in for a blood pressure check ended up with no check or examination. The doctor trying to prescribe something that I have had previously that doesn't agree with me and a conversation where he tried to get me to diagnose the problem myself! May as well have had one of their pointless telephone consultations. When I finally managed an appointment for a BP check the nurse was so concerned that she took some blood and insisted that I make an appointment with reception for 1 weeks time. Also I was to record my own BP to give to the doctor the following week. On leaving I was told that there were no appointments for 3 weeks and to return the results, if I was poorly enough the GP would be in touch. 98% of my results came back as abnormal- too high and I've heard nothing from the doctor regarding this. After 55 years I'm off to find a surgery that actually cares for its patients

Review titled Bad Practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

It isn't possible to see a doctor at this surgery so I rely on my repeat prescriptions and manage my medication as I need to. Now this has become very difficult and greatly increases my anxiety problems as I never know whether I'll get what I need. They changed the prescription frequency for one medication without telling me and then the receptionist said I couldn't have more tablets because I'd had too many but another medication which I need intermittently I could only have a small amount because I hadn't ordered it for asome time. A third medication I tried to order before going on holiday so that I wouldn't run out was refused. I think it's inappropriate that the receptionist can make prescribing decisions.

Had an appointment this morning at 8.30am, came out and went to the desk to request a doctors call back on another matter. The doctor rang me at 9:00am and I have got an appointment at 1pm today to see the doctor. Excellent service. Also the function to be able to send photos in advance is very good

Review titled Let down!
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I received a letter from the practice offering help and support after my husband died suddenly. Twice I tried to access help and each time I was told by the receptionist that it wasn’t a medical emergency. 5 week wait for first request and 6 weeks later for the 2nd request. In the end I managed to get treatment elsewhere. Finally got an appointment and dared to ask a second question and had to sit and watch the Dr write in my medical records ‘ whilst I’m here could you have a look at’ !! Very rarely do I visit the Drs, always a last resort after trying to self treat. Pretty much feels like the letter of condolence and the offer of help was just a box ticking exercise probably for qof because there certainly wasn’t any when I needed it most. Also find it particularly uncomfortable that a certain receptionist is allowed to decide if a problem is not medically urgent!

What an amazing surgery. From a very helpful receptionist, Dr and nurse that did my blood test and ECG. You must be the best surgery in the area. I always say both the surgery and NHS are there when we need them. Thank you again
