Review titled Great Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 27 November 2023
I had an appointment with Advanced Nurse Practitioner. I think it’s the second time I have seen him an I want to say how good he is. He explained things in a way that I understood and even went to the point of looking for medication that would suit me as a vegetarian. He has a wonderful manner with a sense of humor similar to my own. People find it easy to complain but we don’t say thank you enough when we have a good experience. Please pass on my thanks to the relevant people.

I can't single one person out on reception at this surgery. They were all really helpful in aiding me to get an appointment and give me the time to explain what was going on with my daughter. I am so grateful to you. Thank you.

Review titled Staff Compliment & Appreciation
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 April 2023
My mother has been registered with the practice for approx 2 years and we have been happy with the service. More recently our Mother's health had taken a decline and given the current strain on Health Service it can be difficult to get an appointment as quickly as needed, nevertheless the staff at Cannock Road surgery always try their best to accommodate us when the need arises. We recently had cause to call the surgery as we were becoming increasingly concerned about our Mother's presentation. We were fortunate to secure a telephone consultation on Friday 10th March whereby the GP made an urgent referral to the hospital which we were grateful for. We waited almost 8 hours and unfortunately by the time the ambulance crew arrived at approx 10.45pm our 88 year old Mother was tired and falling asleep. That weekend our Mother's presentation heightened our concerns further and when I called the surgery on Monday 13th there were no available appointments. The receptionist, said she would make a note of my request, promising a call back should there be cancellation. Much to my delight the receptionist returned my call within a short time offering a telephone consultation that afternoon. The consultation was led by Dr. who submitted a referral to A & E, ordering an ambulance for my Mother due to concerns around her presentation in context of her current health diagnosis. I feel the need to express my gratitude to Drs and receptionist who, despite the demand for appointments, were very efficient, caring and showed a genuine interest in the anxiety we felt at a most difficult time. Both were professional and efficient and made us feel valued throughout our engagement. I would also like to acknowledge another member of staff, who upon our arrival on 11th January tried to co-ordinate 2 appointments which my Mother had on the same day but at different locations and time. Her efforts paid off and my Mother, who has mobility problems, was able to be seen at the surgery by a Practice Nurse. So I would like to say a heart-felt and well deserved "thank you" to Dr. and the receptionist, who had it not been for their care, promptness and interest in their customers/patients, the outcome for my Mother may have been very different had there been further delays in accessing the emergency services. Thankfully she has been discharged from hospital and is convalescing at home. :)

Review titled Shocking Service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Deborah Thomas - Posted on 06 December 2022
Absolute shocking service - having to pay for private gp care as I can never get an appt for myself or my child, child has been confirmed infection on msu and told to ring back for an appt, even though comment on results say to contact gp for an appt - I explained I can never got through after ringing 150+ times in a morning and by the time I do I can never get through. My daughter is 12 years old and has had recurrent utiI's and once again been left to just get on with it. Reception will not pass message to gp to say what results have shown and are very unhelpful. Told by reception that each time I cannot get through, to tell them to put her on waiting list so it proves I have been ringing and cannot get through - absolutely ridiculous when a child has a confirmed uti and needs help, this will be taken further!
