Review titled No in person appointment for high blood pressure.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 October 2024
I have tried using these GP services for many years, all sadly unsuccessfully. When I had an ulcer, heart problems, blood pressure or any other symptoms, the most I could get would be a call within more than one and a half months period. By that point, I'd always end up going to A&E and/or calling 111. Sadly, this has been happening all too long. My most recent experience is with my blood pressure being 158/95, and there was nothing that the practice could do apart from offering a call within one and a half months. I struggle to imagine what organ damage happens by that point.

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent experience with our practice. We sincerely apologize for the frustration and distress you have felt while trying to access timely care, especially concerning your blood pressure and other health concerns. We understand that high blood pressure is a serious issue, and it’s concerning to hear that you were unable to secure an in-person appointment when you needed it. Your health is our top priority, and we are committed to providing appropriate and timely care to all our patients. The reception staff would not be able to book an appointment 6 weeks in advance with a GP, are you referring to a nurse appointment? Or did the GP request that we review your blood pressure again in 6 weeks? We have GP appointments in less than 2 weeks for routine appointments. We release appointments every day at 8 am for same-day access and generally, we can offer appointments to most patients that call at 8 am. We also have access to Clapham PCN Hub which allows us to book additional GP appointments at 11 am every day as well as appointments with a GP on Sat. In addition, you can book appointments online via the NHS app and we offer online consultation via our practice website: https://www.claphamhealth.nhs.uk/. To address your concerns, we would like to investigate this matter further and explore how we can improve our appointment availability and communication. We encourage you to reach out directly to us, so we can better understand your situation and ensure you receive the care you need. Thank you once again for your feedback, and we hope to resolve this issue for you as soon as possible. Best regards, Mr Raj Kumar Practice Manager Dr Curran & Partners

Review titled Worried parent. Bad service.
Rated 1 star out of 5

After waiting a month for a telephone consultation for my children ( was told I had to have a telephone consultation when I asked for an on-person app) the receptionist booked it informing me I would br called in the am. Today I was called at 7:03 am. This call I missed (getting my children ready for the school run). The very helpful Dr. left a voicemail stating a number I should call back. This was the surgery contact number which is not answered until after 8 am. I suspect my children are suffering with mould sickness and I have found worrying lumps on my child’s neck which I would like clinical advise on. This is now way to run a health service.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. We are sorry to hear you have had to wait for an appointment. Generally, we offer routine appointments in less than 2 weeks or sooner. In an emergency, we can offer appointments on the same day. The GP will decide which patients need to be seen urgently so you may need to describe the symptoms to our reception staff. We prioritize children, based on their symptoms as often they need to be seen sooner than an adult. The GPs will generally call you more than once if they are unable to contact you. We offer earlier telephone appointments to improve access for patients. We ask that patients try to be available, but we appreciate this is not always possible. If you miss our calls you can call us after 8 am when the normal surgery line opens and we will ask a GP to call you back. To improve access we ask that you speak to a GP first and this allows us to offer more appointments and also ensures those patients who need to be seen face to face are seen more quickly. We have face to face appointments for our GPs to book in the AM and PM, Monday to Friday. If you would like to be seen without speaking to a GP first please ask for a “Hub appointment”, as we are able to book this directly with a local GP depending on the nature of the call. We will discuss your concerns in our practice meeting to see how we can improve our services in the future. Yours sincerely, Mr R Kumar Practice Manager

As always the receptionists were efficient, helpful and considerate. Despite the pressures of work they remain cheerful and good humoured. The practice nurse was thoughtful and understanding. My GP, whom I have known for many years, is outstanding in her professionalism and the care she gives me.

Review titled Really great service today
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Katherine Oliver - Posted on 07 February 2023
Excellent service from Dr Curran and partners today-from my call being answered promptly by very helpful friendly reception staff, to a GP call back within half an hour followed by an urgent appt a couple of hours later. The reception staff I then saw were helpful and friendly and the GP absolutely brilliant with my 3 year old. Thank you!

Review titled Very good practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Evelyne Mosby - Posted on 10 January 2023
I recently joined the practice and I am very happy that I did. Receptionists are friendly and answered my questions efficiently. I saw 2 nurses, each one provided painless procedures and were friendly. And I saw 2 doctors. There was no rush, my concerns were addressed, callback was prompt, informative and punctual. I find waiting rooms also important, this one has ample seating, is clean and quiet, and I love the blood pressure/weight/height device (even though I am smaller than I thought).
