Review titled Rude receptionists
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 October 2024
I am actually shocked at how I was spoken to and treated when I was asking a question about a blood test. The receptionist was unhelpful and rolled her eyes at me when I asked a simple question and asked for help with something. This is not the first time I have received such treatment.

Review titled no to book appointments through the app
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 October 2024
I've tried to make an appointment via phone and the receptionist told me that I can only do through the app at midnight or 6 o'clock in the morning. If I wanted to receive a call from the doctor, I had to wait for 2 weeks. How about the elderly people? Some o them don't even know what Internet is! How can they book an appointment? And people with disabilities? How can they do? The new way of booking an appointment it's not helping the people in need at all! I don't mind having to wait on the queue when calling! At least you can talk to the receptionist and explain the reason of your call and book an appointment if necessary. How many appointments are wasting doctor's time because the app doesn't know if the appointment is really necessary?

We are sorry that you were not happy with our service. Most of our appointments are available on line. They go "live" at midnight and another batch is released at 6am. This is following feedback from patients and we do try to listen to you. The online option is a government edict as they are trying to move NHS care on to online generally. We do however keep back appointments for those not using the internet. These are bookable once the surgery opens at 08.00 and can go quite quickly on busy mornings. If phoning in the afternoon all the routine bookable slots will likely be gone. The last week admittedly we have had a minimum of 2 doctors off sick each day, which has made routine appointments generally tight. However if it is an urgent problem and there are no routine appointments, you would get put on the triage list and your problem will be dealt with either by phone or face to face as needed.

Review titled Amazing staff showing what the NHS can really do
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I never really had many dealings until this past month with a tricky skin issue. Particularly one evening coming home from work I was in severe discomfort. On a whim I popped in and asked the receptionist if I could book an appointment or ask for a callback at some point (it was past 5pm). Not only did they help me, they got me a time within minutes and seen with a GP within 2 hours! When talking with me about the issue, the receptionist was also very understanding on my reluctance to explain the problem in an open reception and made it work without forcing me to speak when not comfortable (they are definitely not like your stereotypical staff). The GP was incredibly kind, understanding and explained things extremely thoroughly. Not once did I feel rushed out the door. Their knowledge was absolutely unquestionable but also presented as an incredibly approachable character with a good sense of humour, making an unpleasant situation that little bit better. The doctors is not somewhere you ‘want’ to go but if I ever had a choice on where, Dolphin House hands down.

Thank you for this positive review. Our staff do try really hard to offer the best possible service for our patients under the current NHS primary care constraints. As such positive feedback like this is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Review titled Excellent help and service

Today I called just before 3pm, I needed to be seen or spoken with fairly promptly. The receptionist was very helpful and compassionate when I explained, my ailment meant I was put on the triage list and would get a call ASAP. No more than 5 minutes later the Dr called, listened and asked me to come to the surgery in 20 minutes to see the nurse. I signed in at the front of the surgery, went to the appropriate waiting area and was called in straight away. I can't thank Dolphin house staff enough today, excellent service!

Review titled Poor Experience
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Dolphin House Surgery I’ve noticed has gone downhill massively over the recent years. Attended today with my fiancé to treat her anxiety and to get a fit note for universal credit and after being seen 10 minutes late, we was seen for 2 minutes (no exaggeration). They asked 2-3 questions about her anxiety from when she was a child! Not now? They have no understanding of her condition to date at all because they never asked. No time frame from when they would “digitally” send one over to universal credit. I expressed we needed a physical copy too however we have to “wait until it’s ready”. The doctor was running late and therefore seemed as though they were shoving us out and had no time for us. Disgusting considering they don’t know how she is feeling and have no understanding of her condition to date, only from years ago… Also seems an absolute nightmare to even get an appointment! I rang approximately 3 times at separate dates to get her an appointment and their reply was “it’s not urgent enough”, “book via the online booking system”. It’s almost impossible to get an appointment via phone call and online. Terrible service now a days.

I rang the surgery on Friday 1 December and was offered an appointment that day. I actually attended on the following Monday and was referred to hospital which took place on Thursday 7 December. This was not an urgent matter but the response all round was really impressive. Top drawer service.

I have always found the Dolphin House team to be fantastic. Always friendly and helpful when you call in. The doctors are all lovely and very understanding. The surgery itself is clean and welcoming, with plenty of parking out the front.

Review titled Excellent practice

I asked for copies of A&E copies from a hospital near Center Parcs after telephoning the hospital personally. I rang Dolphin House as the quickest way would be for Dolphin House to follow us which they did. Within 24 hours I was picking the copies up from Dolphin House surgery. They are all lovely staff. Well done to you all. Thank you.

I handed In a form on 19/05/23 I told the girl at reception I would pick it up on my next appointment which was 22/05/23, when I went too pick the form up, the other girl at reception couldn’t find it, a private form with personal information just vanished. No help whatsoever. The form could bee anywhere and staff couldn’t care less. Not professional at all, and don’t care for their Patti a private and personal information
