  1. Review titled Needs improvement

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Hayley Cobb - Posted on 18 September 2024

I understand and appreciate the NHS is under a lot of pressure and I rarely complain about anything however frustration has led me to this point. I have been a patient for 2 years and rarely used the services however when I have tried every time i have been on hold for over an hour that is not acceptable especially when you try to call at different times of the day and get the same result. One time I was on hold for 35 minutes I was driving home and was not far from the practice so i went in to see 2 receptionists at the desk not on the phone and not dealing with any patients which then leads me to think why are the staff not answering the calls i was told i was 5 in the que of who? In June i applied for a life insurance a request was sent to the GP for further information 3 months later in August no response which is just delaying my application, I called the surgery I was on hold for 45 minutes spoke with a lovely lady who said the request had been received and she was not sure why nothing had been done I was told it would be resolved I come off the phone feeling satisfied only to be told in September from the insurance company that still nothing has been done I just tried calling the surgery and was on hold again for 45 minutes so I have ended the call. The servicing really needs improving this review is made in good faith to provide constructive feedback, most staff i have dealt with have been lovely but the lack of service really needs fixing.

I had an appointment with a doctor this morning I hadn’t seen this doctor before she was very thorough I was very pleased and satisfied with my experience. From making the appointment with kind friendly helpful receptionist and a very professional doctor I couldn’t be more satisfied with the service. Thank you

  4. Review titled Great GP telephone experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I phoned the GP to discuss test results. Receptionist arranged for the nurse to call me back. Nurse called back but I was unable to speak due to work so agreed to call me on another day. GP called to discuss analysis of results, again due to work I couldn't speak properly and GP agreed to phone me back which she did on the same day. Great conversation, she listened to me, especially as the person that did the scan didn't provide the same details in the results as they did to me on the day. The GP asked how I was, symptoms etc. and confirmed the referral I needed had been made, and provided other follow up care. I think this GP surgery is great anyway but this GP was fantastic. Clear knowledge, reassuring professional manner. Thank you.

  5. Review titled Reception poor & unapproachable

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Laura - Posted on 29 April 2024

I had an appointment today & when I went in I said my appointment time she repeated quite abruptly like she was shocked! I took a seat & I was about 20minutes early & I actually got seen within 10 minutes when usually I could be waiting over half an hour to an hour! The GP I seen was lovely I felt comfortable speaking to her- she prescribed what I needed & then said go to reception & say I need to see you in 2 weeks! I went to reception I told the gp had told me she wants to see me in 2 weeks & all I got was you’ll have to ring on the day or go on the app because next appointment isn’t until 22nd May - bearing in mind the GP told me she only works Mondays & Friday & the 22nd is on Wednesday! She has her elbows on the desk like she was not bothered & didn’t even care that i said the GP said I needed to be booked now in 2 weeks time! It felt like she didn’t want to do her job to look at when she could book me in! What is more crazy is that my boyfriend went in after me & she was abrupt to him he was he went in half an hour earlier because I got seen 15 minutes before my appointment so I told him go in you might get seen early! Not only he was waiting to be spoken to when he walked & the 2 receptionists were chatting & took them a few mins to acknowledge him! There’s no need for the receptionists to be so rude - they don’t give off a very approachable manner- this receptionist in particular! You know it could be that someone might already be feeling low anxious & having someone be like that towards you in a gp clinic is quite unprofessional & frustrating! The GP booked my boyfriend herself most likely knowing I couldn’t get booked! I’ll be saying this to the Gp next time I’m in to let her know how poor some of the receptionists are! It would just be nice to have understanding & professional people on reception as they are give off first impressions of the clinic!!

  6. Review titled Outstanding Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 April 2024

I have contact the surgery on 2 occasions in the past 4 weeks. Both times I completed the online form in the morning and received a call by 9:30 confirming my appt. The 2nd time my appt was the same day. The GP and Practice Nurse I had consultations with were efficient and listened to my concerns. Whilst the phone lines can be busy using the online form service has simplified things and is very easy to use.

We are sorry that you had difficulty getting through to the surgery. The telephone lines are extremely busy but our staff are answering calls as quickly as they can. We are switching to a new telephone provider on the 4th of March, so patients will be able to request a call back instead of hanging on the line. If you would like to speak to one of the managers about your experience, please get in touch. You can email us directly at culcheth.mc@nhs.net If you are getting the "Splat" message when accessing the website , then you possibly need to clear your browser settings. Thank you

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with the service provided by the practice. We have been working hard to make positive changes in regards to the telephone system and the online consultation forms. We have increased the daily capacity for Anima, the online service, and have switched to a new telephone provider on the 4th of March. The new service allows patients calling in to select a call back instead of waiting on the line at busy times. This has vastly reduced the waiting times for patients. Please let us know if you have any difficulty contacting us in the future. Thank you .

  9. Review titled Frustrated caller

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 April 2023

Don't bother trying to telephone this practice. I waited on the phone on 3 occasions today. The automated voice told me I was first in line on all 3 calls. But all calls cut off after 30 mins without being answered.. Next time I want to contact them I will call at practice in person . Less frustrating.

  10. Review titled Unacceptable and Inadequate phone service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Wendy Owen - Posted on 14 March 2023

The receptionist staff who answer the phone do not treat you with dignity or respect. It takes far too long to get through to a receptionist. Typically it can take more than 10 minutes for a receptionist to answer a phone call. Phone calls to the surgery have often taken more than 30 minutes to be answered. Hence the message on the system says that if you are waiting for more than 30 minutes a sound will be made and you will be requested to ring back. If you stayed on for 30 minutes then your need is urgent! It took 19 minutes for the call to be answered. I was third in the queue. Receptionist are not trained adequately and have responded inappropriately to patients in the family.
