Review titled Booking system is awful
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Ruth A Adams - Posted on 25 October 2024
recently the way to book an appointment has changed and you have to complete a questionnaire. This service is not fit for purpose, particularly for diagnosis when It comes to young children. Ive had the most awful experience today, which caused a lot of stress. It is extremely time consuming, you're asking to write why you want to speak to a Dr, then asked again to write symptoms, then to go through questions which might be relevant for older children in their illnesses but are absolutely not for a baby. My toddler has a cough and needs to be checked by a Dr! Instead of being able to do this, the useless system of questions and all the time I took to write that I just need to see a Dr gave me the ridiculous response from the gp that I needed to go to a&e. This was delivered via text! I rang up and said this can't be right, he has a cough and just needs to see a gp. The rude receptionist then told me, it's the system and they can't over ride the word of the gp who looked at it. Clearly they didn't look at what I had written. The questionnaire asked if my son was dribbling, I answered yes because he is as he's teething and because of that I now got a response to go to a&e and I couldnt talk reason to anyone!!!; I had to ask to try and do another form if I want an appointment. I went to a&e, spent 2 hours waiting with a toddler and the said 'you should not have been sent here, this is something your Gp should have dealt with. Which it would have if you could actually talk to human being and book an appointment for an ill toddler. This new booking system is a disgrace! As a gp practice your meant to be a service for the community, god knows how they expect elderly people to use this system and take so long just to be sent to a&e unnecessarily when a simple phone conversation could be had. Disgraceful and it needs to be changed

Review titled Poor Communication
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Karl JR - Posted on 11 September 2024
Asked about private referral and procedure. Filled the new online form and doctor will call or secretary will orgnise, followed up a week later when heard nothing! Dialed 6 for secretary at 1pm and not available as no one in till1.30pm and close at 2pm, called the following day and again no secretary and told I will get a call. 10 days later which took it to 2.5 weeks that I need to talk to a doctor!!! Useless practise, useless system, poor service and unsure if it is pure lies or staff not trained. Some staff are lovely and go beyond to be let down by the rest including. the GPs

Been ringing every week for last 2 Months trying to get an appointment for my Cortisone Injection which was due in early April . After unsuccessfully requesting to speak to the Practice Manager ASAP today I surprisingly get an offer of an appointment at the end of this month which will be 2 Months overdue. The Drs are fine but the Practice Adminpractice is still woeful.

Dear Mr Vernon, Unfortunately, you have sent your review to the wrong practice as you have never been a patient with us. There are several practices in the country with the same name. Wishing you well. Kind regards

Review titled No available appointments

I was sent a link, to book appointment. It offered next week. The new 'government directive' seems to actively prevent anyone trying to see or speak to a doctor. We never had this problem before & we have more doctors. How does that work? I have an auto immune deficiency but a computer says no! I'll be off the chemists, or ring 111 as advised by reception. Thanks a bunch.

Review titled Very Good Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Catherine Cox - Posted on 31 May 2024
We have always been able to speak to or see a health professional when we've needed to. Recently my husband has had several health issues all coming at once, and they have displayed real concern and done all that they can to make sure he is being looked after. I am confident in the care we receive. The receptionists are also very helpful and on the very rare occasions in the past when we have raised a concern, it has been dealt with quickly and in a satisfactory manner.

Review titled Terrible service

Can't get an appointment for my aging husband and they have used my previous name which has never been registered at the surgery. I've not had the name for over 20 years. Prescriptions in the wrong name and no one has the decency to investigate or inform me how it happened. Useless surgery.

Review titled Nurses are worth their weight in gold
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Tracey Butler - Posted on 23 October 2023
Saw out of hours GP a week an a half ago when I realised self medicating was not making me better. Poor service, bad communication and told to take pain relief and fluids, as if I wasn't already. After trying to get appointment today with own GP I saw the ANP nurse and she was an angel. Being a nurse myself, I am capable of taking my own observtions and describing my symptoms effectively. The practice nurse listened to what I had to say which turned into a two way conversation, with her asking lots of questions to get the whole picture. I was examined, my treatment was explained and I finally felt like I might get better. I was so happy at that moment I began to cry. If I didn't have an infection I would have hugged that nurse. Thank you for your time, understanding, compassion and professionalism. If I could give you an award you would truly deserve it.

Called after 4pm on a Thursday and was able to get an appointment for the next day. The nurse was kind, compassionate and honest. The appointment was not rushed and I felt listened too. A follow up appointment was booked there and then which has provided a great deal of reassurance.
