  1. Review titled Terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Lauren - Posted on 07 October 2024

My usually practice is Ryton, I could only get my 7 year old booked in at crawcrook. Got him out of school early for the appointment, got there 5 mins early, unfortunately I did not know I had to check in on the computer whick is out of sight when you enter. 20 minutes later I went to the desk and explained I hadn’t checked in. I was told I had simply missed the appointment. The receptionist did not check if he could be seen still, she just kept repeating I had missed my appointment. No concern to what my child’s appointment was for, Then couldn’t rebook him back in. It’s concerning especially when children are involved the lack or care is terrible. I then called in the the pharmacy next door to the doctors, spoke to a lovely lady who said if my son has whah she thinks he has the it is highly contagious and needs to be see by a doctor. I have called 111 and waiting for a call back to book in at a walk-in centre as I won’t return to crawcrook. Receptionist seam to have too much power over booking you in or refusing appointment. Granted my mistake for not realising I had to book on but no compassion for a poorly child. Terrible service.

Dear Lauren I am sorry you had a bad experience, however if you do not log in to let the clinician know you have arrived then you will miss your appointment and the clinician will move on to their next patient. I hope you child is on the mend. Kind regards Jean Ward Operational Lead

  4. Review titled Very very poor service indeed!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 August 2024

I telephoned to book a repeat prescrition only to be told that I had to present myself in person or request via email (email address given was down!) , i then requested to book an appointment with a GP, the receptionist asked what my issue was then suggested that a Physio appointment was needed, I pointed out that a Physio appointment shoud come through diagnosis , this was met with a bit of attitude from the recetionist who then rudley told me that there were no doctor appointments availabe and that I should call at 08:00hrs the following day, I challanged that this was a lottery and not suitible, then lo and behold miracuously an appointment became availabe at a linked surgery. Very very poor service all round I'm afraid it is easy to see why people suffer needlesly if this is the battle you have to have for what is a basic service, what happened to the Hippocratic Oath?

  5. Review titled Very poor

Rated 1 star out of 5

Tried to get a GP appointment for a serious condition, could nit get past the reception staff, told to go and speak to a pharmacist, got an appointment with someone who could only take bloods, now told to ring back every day at 8am to try to book in with a nurse practitioner who may then decide a course of treatment, still no GP appointment but I may have the chance of an e-consult appointment, back to square one and got test results by text, could not download them and they are advertising for new patients when they cannot give the ones who have been with them for many years an appointment, next step off to the walk in centre to see if they can help me

  7. Review titled Can’t understand triarage system

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 March 2024

Rang for an appointment at crawcrook my surgery Suggesting I need a course of antibiotics for on going problem as symptoms still very much the same and had abnormal X-ray results Also I’m asthmatic. Lad on phone said I would have to go to bede unit In Gateshead as that’s what the sign post says Explained I had no transport and no one to take me to Gateshead, that I felt unwell His response was “well if you had a general hospital appointment you would have to get there” Yes he is right but that would be planned in advance, not thinking I could ring my surgery which I have been with for over 30 years and get an appointment there I had to travel to rowlands Gil for my appointment last week which is bad enough when I’m registered at crawcrook. I said it was a joke getting an appointment these days for his reply to be Well it’s your right if you want to change doctors Great response when feeling unwell. Then to top it off my daughter in law rang to see what time my appointment was as receptionist told me yesterday to ring today for an appointment Told her that I was told I would have to go to Gateshead She laughed said your joking as she had been give an appointment at crawcrook which isn’t her surgery this morning for similar thing respiratory/ cough. So very confusing system.

  8. Review titled Embarrassingly Poor Practise

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Someone who works for a living - Posted on 13 March 2024

I called today in today to make an appointment, having previously called and found myself at the back of a queue of 14 people. I was told I can't have an appointment today, and I can't pre-book an appointment, I'll have to try and call again tomorrow and take my chances in the 8am telephone scramble. As someone who works for a living, just how am I supposed to get an appointment?

  10. Review titled Fit Note

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by John Howling - Posted on 29 January 2024

Rang practise for Fit Note on 26/01/2024, advised to use econsult which did not work, went to practise and given link. Sent info and returned to practise on 29/01/2024 to find it has not gone through. Received an email to resubmit details which you cannot reply to. Awful lot of red tape for a fit Note when the practise should have details of my injury from the QE Hospital. Not good at all, will have to contact practise again!

Dear John I am sorry you have encountered problems using the eConsult system which is the system we use for sick/fit notes. Normally if you complete it right to the end where it says Finish we receive them and deal with them in the time allocation of 48 working hours. thank you for making us aware of the problems, we will ask for this to be looked into to avoid this happening in the future.
