  1. Review titled My consultation on 9th July 2024.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jan Bending - Posted on 09 July 2024

I cannot fault my consultation today and am very reassured by it. This is how the nhs works. When you have health issue/s that is/are not 999/ ems they are perfectly competent/available to help you. As a senior, with accumulating health issues, I have found this practice first rate in their ability to listen, and address my various problems. I have seen the same Dr. on two occasions recently and am extremely impressed by the care she has shown to me. I am grateful for this and know I am receiving the advice/ treatment I need. Thank you Coquet Medical. p.s. sorry about lower case nhs/ems. This website does not permit ( why ??) uppercase

  2. Review titled No care for patients

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Angela Green - Posted on 31 July 2024

On 22 July I phoned the prescription line and as usual had an excessive wait. However I have now received my telephone bill with the following (only) itemised call charge: 01670 570162 2 hrs 12 mins 11 seconds £17.52 And an app is not the answer to yet another complete disregard for patients. On 25 July I had two appointments at Amble - one with the HCA and the other with a NP. On the morning of the appointment the Nurse practitioner appointment was changed to Broomhill. Fortunately I do drive. When can we expect to be treated with respect?

  3. Review titled Frustrating & Dissapointing

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 June 2024

I try not to bother GPS my choice but would love to be able to see one should I need it, however the one time I could do with seeing someone(although not an emergency situation) I've rang Amble surgery to be left ringing out for 40mins I gave up in the end. I've tried my NHS app which is useless for getting appointments doesn't let you & I've been on the app since it was set up & have never been able to get an appointment. This Anima app just keeps telling me to use my NHS app (it's so annoying going around in circles) I had to laugh as it says on CMG website for any new patients wanting to register??? Need to help your existing patients out first & sort your system out too before taking any more on in future. More actions to be sorted before putting unsuitable information on your website.

  4. Review titled Very constructive appointment

I had initially requested a female Dr for my apt so was a little apprehensive to see I had a young male Dr. He was excellent! Very thorough, explained everything to me and very patient even though he must have spent more time with me than the norm. He was a good listener too. Make him a partner!!!

  5. Review titled Changes to ordering a repeat prescription without notice

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 May 2024

I usually use the NHS app to order my monthly repeat prescription without any bother. I order when I start the last week of tablets to make sure I do not run out. Today my medication has disappeared from the app and instead I get a message saying I need to contact the surgery. Rang late afternoon and still had to wait 20 minutes to speak to someone. They said that things had changed and I could only order my medication on a certain date which is a month after my last request. It will reappear on the app when I can reorder. As I order after 3 weeks to ensure I have been able to collect it before the current ones run out, I will now be a week without medication. I pointed out that I will be away on the date I can reorder and that I am trying to be responsible by ensuring I do not run out whilst away. The receptionist said she would put a request through - I just hope she does as she sounded somewhat rushed and frazzled. This just seems be change for change's sake with no information given that this change was happening. Also, the new Amina app has very limited times when you can access to make appointments with the last spot being 2pm or 5pm on a Friday and nothing on a Saturday or Sunday. Not helpful if working full time with little opportunity to access non-work related IT. They have a jazzy new logo and website (got lots of messages about that!) - but maybe the money could have been better spent on staff! Whilst I appreciate the pressures the NHS is under, front line services need to be better to stop people losing faith in the NHS and GPs in particular. Other care I have received from them has been fine - just disappointing that something as simple as ordering a repeat prescription has been made so difficult.

  6. Review titled Chaos

Rated 1 star out of 5

Copy of my e-mail to the Health Minister and my local MP ....... Dear I rarely contact my GP unless they contact me. I was asked to go for my annual review by text, as was my husband. We attended the clinic and we were told we would be contacted by phone a week later by a practice nurse. Our telephone appointments were then cancelled due to unforseen circumstances. In the meantime I put in a request for repeat prescriptions for myself and my husband and we then received texts saying our prescriptions would not be renewed until we arranged a GP telephone appointment. I went to the surgery this morning before the 8am opening and I was 9th in the queue and 2 more people came after me. I rang the surgery at 8am prompt to be told I was number 40 in the queue. I eventually got to the desk and obtained two GP appointments and found they had my husband's telephone number wrong despite him receiving texts previously! The 8am, 5 day a week is not working. I suggest you visit a surgery for a day and then maybe you would have hands on experience to put the system right. Unfortunately you will not be in your post long to do anything about it.

  8. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 February 2024

I had sudden severe searing pain in both knees. Phoned the surgery this morning at 8.04 & was 33 in the queue, finally spoke to someone 30 mins later to be told very abruptly all appointments have been taken you’ll have to phone 111. Did so & they were very polite & caring unlike the surgery & got me an appointment at Alnwick minor injuries. The very good physio there said I needed blood tests & went to phone this surgery, only to be told there were no appointments due to GP training and they advised me to use E consult. Went on line to find a message saying ‘your practice isn’t accepting online requests right now, meanwhile I am still in agony with no pain management - what a shambles! To add insult to injury my husband then received a txt message from the Practice asking what he thought of their branding- ??? What on earth……….

  9. Review titled Terrible service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 February 2024

What is the point of having blood tests when results are not available. These tests aren't done for fun - they are because of genuine concerns. In addition to the lack of results there is still the question of suitability of the telephone system. To get to the point of no results being available have had to endure starting as at least 17 in queue progressing down to 2 only to be left listening to the number ringing out. Had hoped for an improved service for patients as against simply a change in name and presumably improved conditions for staff

  10. Review titled So disorganised

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Judith - Posted on 01 March 2024

Attempted to order my medication via app. None were listed so waited a day to see if they came up. No they didn't. So attended surgery and explained to receptionist who was very helpful, she said I needed a review of meds but would put prescription request in. By this time I am down to two tablets left. Two days later still no confirmation of request (this is now a Friday morning) rang prescription line, they explained their problems, would get a Dr to pass them straight away . explained it was now urgent as down to last tablet. By afternoon found a prescription approval unfortunately it was not the prescriptions I requested! Had to ring again to try and get them .Now Late Friday afternoon I am going to be out of Meds until at least Monday. Appalling! If I need a review why not plan ahead, sent a message via app a month before ? Why just leave it and not allow me to order much needed meds?
