Review titled Horrendous practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Courtney - Posted on 12 September 2024
Sadly I have had mainly negative experiences with the GP’s and I truly feel that this is due to my illness and that I was treated in such an inappropriate way because of my diagnosis. Some lovely nursing staff but the Dr’s tend to be very rude. Do better why choose healthcare if you are going to be rude to patients.

After a full one hour waiting for them to get round to speaking to me(phoned 08.40 answered 09.30 was told too late for them to complete triage form, all I needed was to extend fit note but they wouldn't do anything and was told I had to phone next day at 8am. Why? Couldn't they just take a message and sort out. In recent years this practice has gone rapidly downhill

Review titled Terrible practice. A complete failure.
Rated 1 star out of 5

Every time I request my repeat prescription it is rejected. I am asked to come in for an asthma review and until I do, I cannot pay for, and receive my inhalers. So I come in for an asthma review, which never seems to be logged by the practice, so next time I request the prescription, I am told I need an asthma review. I have to phone, and wait on hold for between 30mins to an hour. Then wait around a week to receive an appointment. All of this just to receive a repeat prescription. Your service is truly appalling. The lack of empathy received during phone calls is alarming.

Review titled Nice staff but inefficiently run
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I've wasted a lot of my time over the years turning up to appointments only to see nurses who are unable to prescribe what's needed or unnecessarily because the triage was improperly conducted. Last year, just to get the contraceptive pill, it took 2-3 visits to the surgery, a phone call with a clinician and a follow up phone call because my prescription wasn't issued. It took about a month just to get to this point, which left me without my usual contraceptive for several weeks while I was on holiday. This time round, I requested a cervical screening because I couldn't remember when I had it last and it felt about time. I mentioned this on the online consultation form. I was asked to book an appointment so I assumed my record had been checked. However, I was told on turning up to the appointment that it wasn't due. So again, I wasted my time on yet another unnecessary appointment. Additionally, there seems to be a disconnect between the triage and your record because I was told to make an appointment when I already had one. After I missed the phone call from the surgery, I called to make an appointment straight away. I was told it was because admin staff conduct the triage and can't view your record that I was misadvised to make an appointment. Surely, in times when NHS resources are scarce, this is not the most efficient way to run a practice? In the past (pre-COVID), it would have been a quick phone call to make an appointment and a 10 min appointment with a doctor. That would have been final and not the protracted saga of today.

Review titled Poor experience of the Health Centre
by thubanmf74 - Posted on 23 March 2023
Since been transferred here trying to obtain information and details, as well as medication and treatment and continues to be problematic. Emails are endlessly ignored and I often find myself having to go to 111 because repeatedly requests are ignored, and leaves me reliant on using other people's medication to manage known ongoing conditions. I consider this practice to be unacceptable and in fact dangerous, however I'm left with no other options. I'm not consulted over decisions made regarding my health care, and even after decisions have been taken without my knowledge the first time I hear about it is when I receive information via text and post. Assurances made that someone will get back to you exactly don't happen, and then when you raise this you find that you have two then endlessly repeat the same information over and over again. In the meantime whilst receiving the above treatment, of course the expectation is that you will treat them better than they treat you.

Review titled It's not actually open

Despite this very nhs website saying it is, there is no walk-in at this centre. I travelled in to Mcr centre feeling like death warmed up on a crammed tram to cross thronged streets, only to find no service and the most unhelpful staff imaginable as I wheezed out of breath. Potential bronchitis with an asthmatic - not interested. They didn't make any recommendations of where else I should go or what I could do. Appalling.
