Review titled Practice is unable to cope
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 07 May 2024
You have to complete an online form at 8am or phone at 8am in order to get any form of appointment (whether same day or in the future) - I was told this by reception last week. If they arrange outpatient tests, you have to book the follow-up to get your results - They will not contact you when the results come in, even if quite abnormal as I experienced [Again, it's now become a question of contacting at 8am and hope you get lucky] Blood tests requested by the hospital as part of follow-up? - good luck getting any phlebotomy appointments with Chobham and West End (c&we) within 4-6 weeks. In the past, when the GP initiated an urgent referral, they only had one person in the whole practice who could use the urgent referral system for Ashford & St Peters. After three months and a substantial worsening of the condition, it turned out that the information entered was insufficient and the referral had been returned to the surgery, but who knows how long it had sat there........ Having come from an amazing surgery in Pirbright, the inability to readily access medical care at c&we is so disappointing. I am very jealous of two of my immediate neighbours, who managed to join Lightwater surgery (1.4 miles away) before the ICB/ICS reduced their catchment to exclude our postcode. The difference in my neighbours ability to access timely medical care is night and day compared to c&we. If you are considering signing up with c&we and have another option, I advise you strongly consider the other option - I have no idea why they are still open for new patients when they cannot cope with what they have. If Chobham and West End acknowledge this review by way of reply, please can you also state what other GP surgeries people living in West End could transfer to in that reply.

We recently moved to area and joined practice. We have had a couple of medical issues. All the staff have been very polite, professional and helpful. Very happy with service we have received so far.

Review titled Can't actually help &/or never has appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 07 June 2023
Dropped a referral form in 3 weeks ago and advised the doctor will review in between clients, called repeatedly throughout to check progress. Called back to check again and now told I need an app call at 8. Call at 8 and no appointments ever available - also can't pre-book as again no appointments available. I wonder what this surgery actually does when there are never any appointments?! and the right hand clearly doesn't speak to the left hand. Reception utterly useless

Review titled Impossible to get help
Rated 1 star out of 5

The worst surgery I’ve ever attended. I have been struggled with them since 2021 to get diagnosed correctly. From the original doctor forgetting to order blood tests to the most unfriendly, unhelpful receptionist my experience has been terrible. I am now waiting to get treatment but unable to even book an appointment. When you try to explain anything over the phone you’re just talked over and palmed off. I am truly at a loss as to where to turn to for medical help now. Do not move to this surgery!

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. A patient’s journey at Chobham & West End is important to us and I apologise that you have not had a good experience. Demand is significantly greater than capacity at the surgery however I understand how stressful it can be when you require and appointment and how frustrating diagnoses can be and sympathise. Can I ask you to please use our online form under Feedback and Complaints on our website so that I can look into your record and hopefully be able to assist you further. Kind regards, Practice Manager

Review titled Ring back at 8am....
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 April 2023
Something is broken at this practice, many years ago it used to be really good, and I felt lucky that we had such a surgery in the village. Now - it is just the same old repetitive response every time you phone for an appointment - "no appointments, ring back at 8am". Guess what happens at 8am when dozens of people all ring the surgery at the same time. It's engaged all morning, or you have to wait on-hold in a long queue. When you do finally get through and its full again - you are told to ring back at 8am tomorrow again, and so the cycle goes on. A ridiculous and unsustainable working model that delivers no value to the patient. A real shame.

Review titled Dreadful

Impossible to get through for the 8am emergency slots Impossible to speak to anyone during the day No option to email Reception can be utterly unhelpful (one good one there is helpful) Impossible to get an appointment within a month if you do manage to get through Impossible telephone appointment system involves waiting all day for a 10 minute phone call, effectively wiping out the whole day (I work so particularly difficult). They say it is morning or afternoon slots, but never is. If you miss your phone call because you happen to be trying to pick up your children from school, you have to wait another 6 weeks to repeat the farce. If you want actual treatment, don't bother looking for it here.
